An afternoon of games, bubbles, and imagination for children in the village of Montecarlo
Merendando – Bubbles and Fantasy is the event that transforms the historic center of Montecarlo, in the province of Lucca, into a large, child-friendly playground. For an entire afternoon, the streets and squares of the village fill with color, laughter, and free activities, offering families in Tuscany a day of open-air fun within the town's 14th-century walls.
The heart of the event is the Labollatorio, a space dedicated to soap bubbles where children can be enchanted and become the protagonists of giant soap creations and small, ephemeral magic tricks. Alongside the bubbles, the village hosts numerous free activities designed to entertain children and teenagers: creative workshops, games, and entertainment moments that invite them to be amazed and use their imagination.
The event takes place in the picturesque historic center of Montecarlo, one of the most fascinating medieval villages in the Lucca area, still enclosed today by its walls and 14th-century gates. Walking through the alleys of the town during Merendando means combining the pleasure of discovering the village with the joy of play, in an intimate and welcoming setting where families gather in the late afternoon to share a snack and some fun.
Merendando – Bubbles and Fantasy is a free event open to everyone, ideal especially for families with children. It is the perfect opportunity for those looking for a peaceful and carefree afternoon in Tuscany, away from the hustle and bustle but immersed in the authentic atmosphere of a small village that knows how to welcome its youngest visitors with simplicity and warmth.
Known primarily for its vineyards and the famous Wine Festival, Montecarlo is a municipality in the province of Lucca that maintains a rich calendar of events throughout the year. Events like Merendando confirm the village's dedication to hospitality and community life, offering children an experience to be lived among the ancient stones of a Tuscan historic center.
