About Mercato Europeo Ancona

For three days, the heart of Ancona transforms into a grand European square: the Mercato Europeo FIVA Confcommercio invades Corso Garibaldi and Piazza Cavour with dozens of stalls from all over Italy and the continent. Street food, typical products, international crafts, ceramics, textiles, and natural cosmetics mingle in a free-entry path that enlivens the 'doric' centre from morning till night. A now-established autumn event in Ancona, to be enjoyed while strolling through colours, scents, and distant traditions.

A market that spans all of Europe

The Mercato Europeo FIVA is one of the most anticipated stops on the calendar of the Mercati Europei FIVA Confcommercio, the travelling circuit that brings the best of the continent's crafts and street food to Italian cities. In Ancona, the capital of Marche, the event returns every autumn and transforms the city's main streets into a grand international promenade, with exhibitors from various European countries and all Italian regions.

Where and when

The market stretches along Corso Garibaldi and Piazza Cavour, right in the centre of Ancona, extending in larger editions to Piazza Roma. The stalls are open daily with continuous hours, from morning until the evening, allowing visitors to experience the market atmosphere both in daylight and when the lights come on and the centre fills with people.

What you can find at the stalls

The strength of the Mercato Europeo lies in its variety: not just food, but a true journey through cultures and traditions. Among the stands, you'll easily find:

  • Street food and gastronomy from various European cuisines and Italian regions, with specialties to taste on-site;
  • International crafts: ceramics, porcelain, home decor, designer jewellery, and fine textiles;
  • Typical products and traditional sweets, cheeses, cured meats, and preserves;
  • Natural cosmetics, perfumes, silk scarves, and accessories that tell stories and crafts from distant lands.

A free event in the heart of Ancona

Admission is free: the market is designed to be enjoyed as a stroll, discovering flavours and objects that are rarely found in city shops. The event, organised by FIVA Confcommercio with the patronage of the Municipality of Ancona, has become a fixed fixture for the late October/early November long weekend, capable of drawing locals and visitors from all over the province to the city centre. For those who love browsing stalls and tasting specialties from all origins, it's one of the most pleasant occasions of the Marche autumn.
