About Curiosando

Curiosando is the historic vintage, antique, and artistic craft market that enlivens the centre of Ancona, in the Marche region. Founded in 1997 in Piazza del Papa, it now takes place almost every month between Piazza Cavour and Viale della Vittoria: a stroll among about eighty exhibitors, stalls of modern design items, collectibles, antique furniture, vinyl records, rare books, vintage toys, and handmade creations. Admission is free and the atmosphere is that curious and relaxed one of those who love to find the right item.

A regular appointment with vintage in Ancona

Curiosando is one of the longest-running and most beloved antique and vintage markets in the capital of the Marche region. Founded in 1997 in Piazza del Papa, it has become part of the life of Ancona's residents: each edition transforms the city centre into a large open-air space where you can browse rare items, memories of the past, and designer creations. The event is held almost every month (with a summer break in June, July, and August) and moves between the two main locations in the centre, Piazza Cavour and Viale della Vittoria, in the Municipality of Ancona.

What you can find among the stalls

About eighty exhibitors specialise in offering everything that can fascinate an enthusiast of antiques and modern design items. Strolling along the stalls, you will find:

  • antique furniture and industrial design furnishings;
  • music, vinyl records, and collectible records;
  • rare and collectible books;
  • vintage toys and numismatics;
  • vintage clothing, accessories, and items;
  • paintings, ceramics, textiles, and carpets;
  • a rich section dedicated to artistic craftsmanship.

The care in selecting the merchandise and the variety of offerings have made Curiosando a reference point for collectors, the curious, and simple enthusiasts over the years, capable of attracting thousands of visitors to each event.

A market spread throughout the historic centre

The formula of a market spread throughout the city allows you to combine antique shopping with a stroll through the heart of Ancona, among the cafes, shops, and picturesque spots of the centre. Piazza Cavour, with its statue of Cavour and gardens, and the elegant Viale della Vittoria descending towards the Passetto, offer a pleasant setting, especially on spring and autumn Sundays.

An event that tells the story of the city

More than just a simple trading fair, Curiosando is a small collective ritual that accompanies the city's seasons: from the first mild spring days to the December events, close to the Christmas spirit. For those visiting Ancona and the Marche Region, it is also an authentic way to connect with local life, away from the more touristy circuits. Admission is always free.

Curiosando — edition 2026

In 2026, Curiosando will continue to accompany most of the year with its monthly events between Piazza Cavour and Viale della Vittoria in Ancona. The approximately eighty exhibitors of vintage, antiques, modern design items, collectibles, and artistic crafts will return, with a calendar starting in January and continuing, with a summer break, until the pre-Christmas weekend in December. Free admission to all dates.
