The grand European fair of antiques, modern design, and collectibles
For over forty years, Mercanteinfiera has been the largest European event dedicated to antiques, modern design, and collectibles. Hosted in the pavilions of Fiere di Parma, in the municipality of Parma and in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, the event takes place twice a year, in spring and autumn, attracting enthusiasts, dealers, interior designers, and collectors from all over Italy and abroad.
The spring 2026 edition took place from March 7th to 15th, preceded by days reserved for industry professionals. Over a thousand exhibitors animated the pavilions with their discoveries: from antique furniture to silverware, from jewelry to paintings, from 20th-century modern design to the most curious and sought-after vintage items.
What distinguishes Mercanteinfiera is the enormous variety of its offerings. Along the fair's aisles, one can seamlessly move from a Baroque sideboard to a 1960s designer lamp, from ancient ceramics to advertising posters, from pocket watches to pop design pieces. It's a path that tells the story of tastes and trends from different eras, where each stand is a small wunderkammer.
The cultural program has always been one of the event's strong points. For the spring 2026 edition, the collateral exhibitions explored the history of television, sports, writing, music, and automobiles:
During its opening days, the Mercanteinfiera ticket often allows visitors to also see contemporary events hosted by the Parma exhibition center, such as AutomotoretrĂ², dedicated to vintage automobiles. This combination makes Parma, already a city of music and fine dining, a reference point for lovers of beauty and historical memory.
Visiting Mercanteinfiera is also an excellent opportunity to discover Parma and its province: a city of art rich in treasures, from the Baptistery to the Teatro Regio, and home to world-renowned gastronomic excellences such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma. Here, antiques dialogue with a territory that has made quality and tradition its identity.
From March 7th to 15th, 2026, Fiere di Parma hosted the grand spring edition of Mercanteinfiera, with over a thousand exhibitors from antique markets across Europe. Antique furniture, jewelry, modern design, and vintage items filled the pavilions, complemented by one of the most curated collateral exhibition programs in recent years.
Among the featured exhibitions were Inside Happy Days, Sanremo 76: the soundtrack of a country, Accessories of Victory curated by Mara Cappelletti, At the tip of the ink, and Wings and Steel curated by Cesare Ponchiroli with AutomotoretrĂ².
