About Mercanteinfiera

Twice a year, Fiere di Parma transforms into the European capital of antiques with Mercanteinfiera. The spring edition brings together over a thousand exhibitors from the continent's main antique markets: vintage furniture, jewelry, modern design, vintage items, and collectibles are displayed across the pavilions in a journey through time, art, design, and history. Accompanying the stands, a rich program of collateral exhibitions makes this event much more than a simple market fair.

Mercanteinfiera, the antique heart of Parma

For over forty years, Mercanteinfiera has been the largest European event dedicated to antiques, modern design, and collectibles. Hosted in the pavilions of Fiere di Parma, in the municipality of Parma and in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, the event takes place twice a year, in spring and autumn, attracting enthusiasts, dealers, interior designers, and collectors from all over Italy and abroad.

The spring 2026 edition took place from March 7th to 15th, preceded by days reserved for industry professionals. Over a thousand exhibitors animated the pavilions with their discoveries: from antique furniture to silverware, from jewelry to paintings, from 20th-century modern design to the most curious and sought-after vintage items.

A journey through art, design, and collecting

What distinguishes Mercanteinfiera is the enormous variety of its offerings. Along the fair's aisles, one can seamlessly move from a Baroque sideboard to a 1960s designer lamp, from ancient ceramics to advertising posters, from pocket watches to pop design pieces. It's a path that tells the story of tastes and trends from different eras, where each stand is a small wunderkammer.

The collateral exhibitions 2026

The cultural program has always been one of the event's strong points. For the spring 2026 edition, the collateral exhibitions explored the history of television, sports, writing, music, and automobiles:

  • Inside Happy Days, created with Giuseppe Ganelli and Emilio Targia, dedicated to the famous TV series with original scripts, action figures, and memorabilia from the world's largest collection;
  • Sanremo 76: the soundtrack of a country, built from materials from the Intesa Sanpaolo Historical Archive and the SIAE Historical Archive;
  • Accessories of Victory: awards, ornaments, and sports, curated by Mara Cappelletti;
  • At the tip of the ink: the inkwell in the Mariani collection, featuring dozens of antique inkwells;
  • Wings and Steel: the metal legends of Abramo Miglioli, curated by Cesare Ponchiroli in collaboration with AutomotoretrĂ².

More than a fair

During its opening days, the Mercanteinfiera ticket often allows visitors to also see contemporary events hosted by the Parma exhibition center, such as AutomotoretrĂ², dedicated to vintage automobiles. This combination makes Parma, already a city of music and fine dining, a reference point for lovers of beauty and historical memory.

Parma, city of taste and culture

Visiting Mercanteinfiera is also an excellent opportunity to discover Parma and its province: a city of art rich in treasures, from the Baptistery to the Teatro Regio, and home to world-renowned gastronomic excellences such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma. Here, antiques dialogue with a territory that has made quality and tradition its identity.
