The grand European fair of antiques, modern design, and collectibles
For over forty years, Mercanteinfiera has been the largest European event dedicated to antiques, modern design, and collectibles. Hosted in the pavilions of Fiere di Parma, in the municipality of Parma and in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, the event takes place twice a year, in spring and autumn, attracting enthusiasts, dealers, interior designers, and collectors from all over Italy and abroad.
The autumn appointment has always been one of the most anticipated in Parma's trade fair calendar: the previous edition saw around 56,000 visitors, over a thousand exhibitors, and more than 6,500 buyers from around the world, spread across a fairground of tens of thousands of square meters. From antique furniture to silverware, from jewelry to paintings, from 20th-century modern design to the most curious and sought-after vintage items, each pavilion becomes a grand wunderkammer to explore.
What sets Mercanteinfiera apart is the immense variety of its offerings. Along the fair's aisles, one can seamlessly move from Baroque furniture to a 1960s designer lamp, from ancient ceramics to advertising posters, from pocket watches to pop design pieces. It's a journey that tells the story of tastes and trends from different eras, where the quality of selection remains the true common thread of the event.
The cultural program is one of the strengths of the autumn edition. Each year, Mercanteinfiera complements its stands with thematic collateral exhibitions, curated by collectors and scholars, covering history, fashion, sports, music, and design. In the autumn 2025 edition, for example, visitors could admire exhibitions dedicated to ancient Bibles, headwear from dozens of countries, the archive of Antonio Colombo bridging art and cycling, and a tribute to commentator Bruno Pizzul. The program for the collateral exhibitions of the 2026 edition will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
During its opening days, a Mercanteinfiera ticket often grants access to other initiatives hosted by the Parma exhibition center. This combination makes Parma, already a city of music and fine dining, a reference point for lovers of beauty and historical memory.
Visiting Mercanteinfiera is also an excellent opportunity to discover Parma and its province: an art city rich in treasures, from the Baptistery to the Teatro Regio, and home to world-renowned gastronomic excellences like Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma. Here, antiques dialogue with a territory that has made quality and tradition its identity.
From October 3rd to 11th, 2026, Fiere di Parma will host the grand autumn edition of Mercanteinfiera, the most important European fair for antiques, modern design, and collectibles. October 1st and 2nd are reserved for industry professionals.
As per tradition, around a thousand exhibitors from antique markets across Europe are expected, featuring vintage furniture, jewelry, silverware, paintings, modern design, and vintage items. The program of collateral exhibitions, a highlight of the event, will be communicated by the organizers in the weeks preceding the opening.
The detailed program for the autumn 2026 edition, including thematic collateral exhibitions, has not yet been published by the organizers. The fair will be open to the public from October 3rd to 11th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last Sunday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
Fiere di Parma is located at Viale delle Esposizioni 393A, in the exhibition district northeast of the city. By car: take the Parma exit from the A1 motorway, then follow signs for Fiere.
