A dive into the Middle Ages in the heart of the Principality of Seborga
In the calendar of the Principality of Seborga, a village inland from Bordighera in the province of Imperia, there is space for an evocative medieval re-enactment entrusted to the Confraternity of the Wolf of Montichiari (Brescia). The event takes place in Piazza Martiri Patrioti, the symbolic heart of the town.
The initiative was born to "celebrate the historical and chivalrous roots of the territory" and is presented as a moment of re-enactment and sharing with strong symbolic value, in homage to Princess Nina. The organizers place it within a path made of "tradition, history, and devotion", inviting the public to participate in large numbers.
The setting of Seborga, with its identity as a Principality and its medieval streets, amplifies the charm of the event. Although it is a re-enactment of short duration, the event adds a piece to the village's rich spring calendar, which includes markets, festivals, and celebrations.
The re-enactment took place on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM in Piazza Martiri Patrioti, in the heart of Seborga. It was curated by the Confraternity of the Wolf of Montichiari, which brought a brief but intense moment of medieval re-enactment to the village.
The event, conceived as a tribute to Princess Nina, celebrated the historical and chivalrous roots of the territory in a setting of tradition, history, and devotion, with an invitation for widespread public participation.
