What is MediBex

MediBex – Mediterranean Beer Experience is the festival that showcases and promotes the Apulian craft beer industry. Created to give visibility to a rapidly growing sector in Puglia, the event brings together breweries, master brewers, distributors, hospitality professionals, and enthusiasts for a three-day celebration of local quality. The setting is the seafront of Villanova di Ostuni, the seaside district of the famous "White City" of the Itria Valley, in the province of Brindisi.

A journey into Apulian craft beer

The heart of the festival is the tasting laboratory, conducted in collaboration with professional sommeliers and dedicated to labels from local breweries. The Apulian brewing scene is now a solid reality, with dozens of active breweries, beer firms, and brewpubs: MediBex serves as its showcase, a moment of promotion and direct encounter between producers and tasters. Alongside the pouring stations, you will find street food featuring regional specialties and local craft markets, set up near the Aragonese Tower overlooking the Adriatic.

Music, masterclasses, and seaside atmosphere

Every evening, the MediBex stage hosts live concerts ranging from swing to blues, bossa nova to Latin and Cuban music, while roving bands animate the promenade with street performances. There is also a focus on technical expertise, with masterclasses dedicated to beer mixology, the art of creating cocktails based on craft beer. It is a format that skillfully weaves taste, culture, and entertainment, designed for connoisseurs, families, and tourists vacationing on the Ostuni coast.

Ostuni and the Itria Valley

Hosting MediBex in Villanova di Ostuni means linking craft beer to one of the most evocative stretches of the Apulian coast, just a few kilometers from the historic center of Ostuni and the countryside of the Itria Valley, dotted with trulli and centuries-old olive trees. The event, promoted by CNA Puglia together with the De Gustibus Vitae Association and supported by the Municipality of Ostuni, is a staple of the Brindisi summer calendar, serving as a key appointment for food and wine tourism and the promotion of local excellence.
