May 1st in Bellavista, in the heart of Ivrea

The May 1st Concert is the event with which the Bellavista district of Ivrea celebrates Labor Day. It takes place in Piazza 1° Maggio, in the area between the raised crossings and the primary school, transforming the neighborhood's public space into a large open-air stage for the evening. The event is organized by the CGIL, CISL, and UIL of the Turin-Canavese Metropolitan Area, in collaboration with the Fabrika Cultural Association and the Bellavista Viva Association, with the support of the City of Ivrea.

Music, community, and civic engagement

The event is more than just a concert: it is a community celebration that blends entertainment, participation, and reflection on the world of work. Alongside live music, there is space for trade union speeches, neighborhood stories, and contributions from local artists and directors. Over the years, the evening has focused on current themes such as decent work, collective bargaining, and new protections in an era marked by technological transformation.

The evening's program

The program begins in the late afternoon with the opening of the food stalls managed by the Pro Loco of Strambino and continues with music and storytelling until late in the evening. Recent editions have featured:

  • Opening of the Pro Loco of Strambino food stalls;
  • "The neighborhood tells its story," with director Paola Risoli and the Bellavista Viva Association;
  • Concert by Bandita al Revès;
  • Video contribution by director Mimmo Calopresti;
  • Performance by the Ivrea-born singer-songwriter Fabrizio Zanotti and his band;
  • Musical finale by the Frisian Band.

A Canavese tradition

Free admission

Access to the event is free and open to everyone. For the occasion, the Municipality of Ivrea implements traffic regulations in Piazza 1° Maggio and the surrounding streets to ensure the event takes place safely.
