The literary and cultural festival of Fiorano Canavese
afFIORANO Storie is the literary and cultural event of Fiorano Canavese, a small town nestled among the morainic hills of the Canavese region, in the Province of Turin and the heart of Piedmont. Now in its sixth edition in 2026, the festival brings the village to life for an entire weekend with a program that puts books, stories, and human connection at the forefront.
The event was born in 2021 under the name afFIORANO i Libri, a collaboration between the Municipality of Fiorano Canavese and the local Pro Loco, with the goal of placing culture back at the center of community life after the long period of lockdowns. Starting as a one-day initiative, the festival expanded by 2022 into a three-day event, fostering dialogue between authors, publishers, schools, local sports associations, and regional artists. Over the years, the festival has broadened its horizons, rebranding as afFIORANO Storie to emphasize that, beyond books, it is stories in their broadest sense that serve as the common thread.
Each edition offers a rich blend of activities designed for a wide, intergenerational audience:
The nerve center of the event is the Castello di Fiorano, housed in the former elementary school building with its courtyard and ground floor, complemented by the recently restored Sala Santa Marta and the Piazza della Chiesa. The village spaces thus transform into a widespread stage for accessible and free culture.
afFIORANO Storie is much more than a series of events: it is a community project that celebrates the identity of a small Canavese town and its ability to build networks. The event has also received support from the Metropolitan City of Turin through grants dedicated to small municipalities, confirming the cultural value of an initiative that started from the ground up and has grown year after year.
From September 11th to 13th, 2026, the sixth edition of afFIORANO Storie returns to Fiorano Canavese, the literary and cultural festival of the small Canavese town in the Province of Turin. The event confirms its three-day format, with an opening scheduled for 9:00 PM on Friday and closing on Sunday afternoon.
As per tradition, the program weaves together book presentations, author meetings, readings, workshops, and exhibitions, accompanied by the second-hand book market and guided tours of the village. The heart of the events is the Castello di Fiorano, the Sala Santa Marta, and the Piazza della Chiesa.
The complete calendar of appointments and the list of guests will be communicated by the Municipality of Fiorano Canavese in the weeks leading up to the festival. Admission to all activities is free.
