Eight days of celebration, culture, and gastronomy in the village of Massa Martana
The Massa Martana Days are the highlight of the summer in Massa Martana, a small town in the province of Perugia nestled among the Martani Mountains. Organized since 1965 by the 'Pro Massa Martana' Tourist Association, the event transforms Piazza Umberto I, Parco G. Gubbiotti, and the streets of the historic center into a grand stage for flavors, culture, and music.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the Castle Tavern, set up in Parco G. Gubbiotti, which offers traditional local dishes. There is also the artisanal gelato street, with 'Gelato in Piazza' in Piazza Umberto I, while the Consortium Outdoor Theater Arena hosts the Pub ZeroSessanta 56. A selection that showcases the food and wine identity of the Martani Mountains.
The Massa Martana Days are not just about gastronomy: the most awaited moment is August 14th with the big party night, from sunset to dawn, featuring music, dancing, DJ sets, and folklore. An event of such appeal that it even requires temporary traffic changes on the SR 316 road of the Martani Mountains.
The 2026 edition of the Giornate Massetane takes place from Sunday, August 9 to Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the historic center of Massa Martana. The Taverna del Castello will be set up in Parco G. Gubbiotti, while the "Gelato in Piazza" event brings artisanal ice cream to Piazza Umberto I, and the Consortium Outdoor Theater Arena hosts the Pub ZeroSessanta 56. The highlight of the week is the white night on Friday, August 14, featuring music, dancing, DJ sets, and folklore from sunset until dawn.
