The Marsiliana strawberry takes center stage in the Grosseto Maremma
The Marsiliana Strawberry Festival is an unmissable event on the spring calendar of the Grosseto Maremma. It takes place in Marsiliana, a small and welcoming village in the Municipality of Manciano, in the province of Grosseto (Tuscany), and celebrates the fruit that symbolizes this corner of the countryside: strawberries grown in the fertile soils surrounding the town. For over fifty years, the event has drawn visitors from across the Maremma, the Livorno coast, and northern Lazio, becoming one of the most popular food and wine festivals in the region.
The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls set up by the Pro Loco and local volunteers, where you can enjoy traditional Maremma cuisine accompanied by local wines. However, the absolute star remains the strawberry, served in many delicious versions:
Every evening, the festival offers live music, entertainment, and shows designed for all ages in a convivial and family-friendly atmosphere. There is no shortage of exhibitions, craft stalls, and activities for children, making Marsiliana a meeting point for families and those who want to experience the authentic atmosphere of a countryside village in celebration. The event traditionally concludes with a fireworks display on the final evening, the most anticipated and evocative moment of the entire festival.
Reaching its 52nd edition in 2026, the Marsiliana Strawberry Festival is the result of the tireless work of the Pro Loco Marsiliana and the many volunteers who transform the village into a great village of taste every year. More than just a village fair, the festival is an opportunity to promote local agricultural products and the rural identity of this strip of Maremma, nestled among the hills that slope down toward the sea and the Albegna river.
Marsiliana is a village in the municipality of Manciano, one of the most characteristic towns in the southern Maremma, a land of thermal springs, Etruscan sites, and rolling hills. Its location makes the festival easily accessible from Grosseto, the Tyrrhenian coast, and the surrounding Manciano area, making it ideal for those who want to combine the festival with a visit to the region.
The 52nd Marsiliana Strawberry Festival was held from Friday, May 29, to Tuesday, June 2, 2026, taking advantage of the long Republic Day weekend. As per tradition, the Pro Loco Marsiliana set up food stalls in the heart of the village, serving Maremma cuisine with strawberries as the star, served fresh, with cream, or in numerous artisanal desserts.
Every evening featured live music and entertainment for families and visitors, concluding with the customary fireworks display on the final night. The event confirmed its role as the main gastronomic appointment in the area, attracting audiences from across the province of Grosseto.
Program spread over five days (May 29 - June 2, 2026):
The festival is held in Marsiliana, a village in the Municipality of Manciano (GR), in the Tuscan Maremma.
By car: from Grosseto, take the SS1 Aurelia south to the Albinia/Manciano exit, then continue along the SS74 Maremmana towards Marsiliana. From the coast and the Argentario, the village is just a few kilometers away. The nearest train station is Albinia, on the Tyrrhenian line.
Access to the festival area is generally free; you pay at individual food stalls according to the menus offered.
Weekend evenings are the most crowded. It is recommended to arrive a little early to park comfortably and to stay until the final evening to watch the closing fireworks display.
