The spring festival dedicated to the wild herb of the Agno Valley
The Maresina Festival is dedicated to a spontaneous wild herb – maresina – which for generations has perfumed the kitchens of the Agno Valley, in Valdagno, province of Vicenza. The initiative, organized by the ProValdagno Association, has transformed popular knowledge into a spring festival that combines gastronomy, culture, and territory.
The event has obtained the recognition of Quality Festival from UNPLI (National Union of Pro Loco of Italy), a certification that rewards the authenticity of products, the valorization of traditions, and the quality of hospitality.
The absolute stars are the fritters with maresina, accompanied by savory pies with maresina and dandelion (pissacan), sweet variations with apples, and baked goods also prepared by students from the CFP of Trissino. Alongside the food stands, the program includes show-cooking, market exhibitions, live music, a mini-train to the Oltre Agno district "City of Harmony", walks in the sacred places of the historic center, and mountain bike tours on the trails of the Piccole Dolomiti.
The festival takes place in the historic center of Valdagno, along Lungo Agno Manzoni and around Palazzo Festari, involving the entire city in a spring weekend that attracts visitors from the entire province of Vicenza and the Veneto region.
The 13th edition of the Maresina Festival took place from April 17 to 19, 2026 in the historic center of Valdagno. It was the first edition celebrated with the title of Quality Festival, a recognition obtained by UNPLI in Rome on March 16, 2026. The event, organized by ProValdagno, combined gastronomy, show-cooking, live music, and numerous cultural and sporting activities along Lungo Agno Manzoni and around Palazzo Festari.
Valdagno is connected to Vicenza by the SP246 (about 30 km). The historic center is easily accessible on foot from the city parking lots.
Access to the festival and stands is free; some workshops and activities may require booking.
The event is held in spring, typically in mid-April.
