About Manifesto SuperCamp

Manifesto SuperCamp is a micro-festival of art and agroecology that brings the countryside of San Vito dei Normanni, in Upper Salento (Province of Brindisi), to life. Established in 2020 on fifty hectares of land confiscated from the mafia and managed by the social cooperative Qualcosa di Diverso through XFarm Agricoltura Prossima, it combines camping, a school of sustainable agricultural practices, workshops, round tables, artistic residencies, theatre, dance, and live music. Five days of temporary community to rethink the relationship between society and ecosystems.

A festival born from the earth

Manifesto SuperCamp is much more than a festival: it is an experience of cohabitation, co-creation, and awareness that transforms the countryside of San Vito dei Normanni, in the heart of Upper Salento (Province of Brindisi, Puglia), into a permanent laboratory of sustainability every year. It takes place between Contrada Montemadre and Contrada Paretone Piccolo, on fifty hectares of land confiscated from the mafia that the social cooperative Qualcosa di Diverso has been managing since 2020 through the XFarm Agricoltura Prossima project.

Born in 2020, the SuperCamp sits at the intersection of camping, a school for good agricultural, ecological, and social practices, a conference, a research workshop, and an artistic festival. Participants can camp within the farm and experience the entire program as a temporary community, sharing spaces, peasant food, knowledge, and visions.

The theme of seeds

The most recent edition is dedicated to the theme of seeds and is based on relational ecosystems. Through the common thread of the seed — understood as origin, memory, biodiversity, community, and future — the program addresses some of the most urgent issues of our time: food systems, common goods, climate change, agricultural autonomy, the enhancement of scientific and local knowledge, and the relationship between body and space.

Music, theatre, and artistic residencies

The artistic heart of the SuperCamp weaves together creative residencies, testimonials, workshops, and round tables with music, theatre, and dance. The residencies explore inhabiting space (with land art projects created using organic and reversible materials), inhabiting the body (physical theatre and movement), and inhabiting the imagination (collective cartographies). The music section, curated by the World Music Academy, brings original productions and concerts that engage with the popular Salento tradition to the stage among the olive trees.

A bastion of legality and agroecology

Manifesto SuperCamp is also a civil act: building culture, agriculture, and community on an asset taken from organized crime means returning those lands to the community. The days alternate between agroecological training seminars, practical workshops (seed selection, composting, agroforestry, artistic printing), film screenings, and convivial moments, in a participatory atmosphere open to everyone, with no prior skills required.

Why participate

  • Spend a few days immersed in the nature of Upper Salento, among olive trees and fields cultivated with agroecological methods;
  • Take part in multidisciplinary workshops, round tables, and artistic residencies;
  • Listen to live music, from pizzica to folktronica, under the stars;
  • Support a social economy project born on lands confiscated from the mafia.

The festival is organized by the cooperative Qualcosa di Diverso through XFarm Agricoltura Prossima, in the Municipality of San Vito dei Normanni, in the Province of Brindisi.

Manifesto SuperCamp — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Manifesto SuperCamp, titled SéMenti, took place from June 30 to July 4 in San Vito dei Normanni, returning after a regenerating break. Five days dedicated to the theme of seeds, with round tables, testimonials, artistic residencies, agroecology workshops, and a rich musical program curated by the World Music Academy, between the Montemadre and Paretone Piccolo districts.

SéMenti: the 2026 edition

The 2026 edition of Manifesto SuperCamp was held from June 30 to July 4 between Contrada Montemadre and Contrada Paretone Piccolo in San Vito dei Normanni (BR). Titled SéMenti, it revolved around the theme of the seed as origin, memory, biodiversity, community, and future, following a regenerating break for the festival.

Round tables and testimonials

On Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, Round Tables were held, featuring discussions on seed banks, food policies, and common goods. The SéMiAttivi_LeTestimonianze cycle (Tuesday and Thursday) opened the dialogue with authors and voices of agriculture and sustainability such as Stefania Chinzari, Vanni Ficola, Isabella Pisano, Tatiana Giannone, and Roberto Covolo.

Residencies, workshops, and DEAFAL program

The three artistic residencies — Inhabiting Space (land art "Pareti Effimere"), Inhabiting the Body (dance and physical theatre), and Inhabiting the Imagination ("Cartographies") — accompanied the agroecology, agroforestry, seed selection, and composting workshops. DEAFAL curated the training sessions "L'INFORMAzione" and "LaboratoriALI" on July 1, 2, and 4.

Music among the olive trees

The musical artistic direction, curated by the World Music Academy, brought pizzica, world music, folk, and electronica under the stars. Free admission to testimonials, round tables, film screenings, music, and performances.
