Street music and major concerts in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma
In the heart of the Maremma, the hilltop village of Manciano, located in the province of Grosseto in Tuscany, hosts one of the liveliest musical events in the southern part of the region every July. The Manciano Street Music Festival, reaching its sixteenth edition in 2026, is organized by the Diego Chiti Musical Cultural Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Manciano, transforming the town's streets and the Parco Pubblico Mazzini into a grand open-air stage.
The event is divided into two distinct yet complementary parts. In the first section, dedicated to street music and free to the public, the historic center fills with street bands from all over Europe: brass, percussion, and wind instruments accompany roving parades, alleyway performances, and concerts on the town's stages. In the second part, held in the evenings at Parco Pubblico Mazzini, major guest artists from the Italian music scene take the stage.
The beating heart of the festival consists of brass bands and roving musical groups arriving from France, Portugal, Germany, and Italy. The formations animating the alleys include international brass and funk groups, joined by Italian bands and numerous street performers. Parades start from the town squares, particularly Piazza della Rampa, and wind through the village, creating a festive atmosphere that engages both residents and visitors.
Music is paired with the Ristofestival, a food and wine trail created in collaboration with local restaurateurs: an opportunity to discover the flavors of Maremma cuisine accompanied by live performances, with a tasting system that allows you to sample local dishes while strolling among the stands and town venues.
More than just a music festival, the Manciano Street Music Festival has become a benchmark for the Maremma summer over the years, successfully blending quality entertainment, regional promotion, and hospitality. The setting of the historic village of Manciano, just a few kilometers from the famous Terme di Saturnia, makes the experience even more evocative, amidst music, taste, and the typical landscapes of southern Tuscany.
The sixteenth edition of the Manciano Street Music Festival is divided into two phases. From July 10 to 12, the historic center hosts free street music, with the inaugural parade on Friday, July 10, at 7:00 PM from Piazza della Rampa. From July 16 to 18, at 9:30 PM, Parco Pubblico Mazzini hosts the ticketed evening concerts.
Featured street music groups include: Brass Dass (Portugal), Poil o'Brass Band (France), Louisiana Funky Butts (Germany), Sax Lab (Bologna), Los Gitanos (Matera), and Magicaboola Brass Band (San Vincenzo), along with numerous Italian groups and artists. Special concerts include Arachel Dolphie & Daysi's Cuban Band (July 10, Piazza della Rampa) and Leonardo De Andreis (July 12).
Thursday, July 16: Tosca with the talk-concert "Le feminรฆ si fanno aspettare". Friday, July 17: Riccardo Rossi with the show "Volevo fare il musicista!". Saturday, July 18: Dirotta su Cuba with "Into the Gruv".
