Two days of historical re-enactment and traditional games along Via Roma, in the heart of Santa Fiora
La Pallonata is one of the most cherished events of the summer in Santa Fiora, a stunning village on Mount Amiata in the province of Grosseto, officially recognized as one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages in Italy'. The re-enactment takes place along Via Roma, the main street crossing the historic center, transforming the village into a vibrant space for celebration and community participation.
The heart of the event is the re-enactment of a traditional race held along Via Roma: a moment that evokes the spirit of rivalry between the local districts and the village's identity, experienced with great enthusiasm by residents and visitors alike. Surrounding the competition, the festivities extend throughout the historic center, where the authentic atmosphere of the stone streets provides a natural backdrop.
La Pallonata is more than just a re-enactment; it is a true village festival. During the two days, you will find food stalls serving the flavors of the Maremma and Amiata regions, markets along the village streets, and entertainment for both adults and children. The evening continues with DJ sets, keeping Via Roma lively until late.
The event is part of the Estate Santafiorese program, a long season of events that has been enlivening the Municipality of Santa Fiora since June with performances, music, traditions, gastronomy, and sports. La Pallonata is one of the events that best captures the village's bond with its roots and the communal spirit of the celebration.
La Pallonata returns to Santa Fiora on July 10 and 11, 2026, confirmed in the official Estate Santafiorese calendar published by the Municipality of Santa Fiora. Two days of celebration along Via Roma featuring the re-enactment of the traditional race, food stalls, markets, entertainment for all ages, and evening DJ sets.
The event is part of the rich summer program of the Amiata village, featuring re-enactments, popular games, and community gatherings.
The dates for the 2026 edition are confirmed by the Municipality of Santa Fiora: July 10 and 11, 2026, along Via Roma.
