The craft beer park in Montenero d'Orcia
Every summer, the small village of Montenero d'Orcia, a hamlet of Castel del Piano in the province of Grosseto, becomes the beating heart of Italian craft beer for an entire weekend. Birragustando is a food and wine event created to celebrate quality brewing culture: the historic center of the town turns into a true beer park, where visitors can stroll between tap stands, discover producers from every region of Italy, and sample a variety of labels, ranging from classic styles to experimental brews.
The festival format blends a passion for craft beer with a love for good food and the local area. Alongside the brewery stands, you will find food trucks offering creative street food, specifically designed to pair perfectly with the tastings. The location of Montenero d'Orcia, overlooking the Val d'Orcia and nestled in the landscape of Mount Amiata, provides a unique scenic frame: you can eat and drink while gazing out over the Tuscan hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Birragustando is about more than just tasting. The evenings continue with live music and DJ sets that keep the village squares buzzing until late at night, while during the day, there are plenty of activities for children and families. Particularly popular are the tasting workshops led by industry experts and journalists, sensory training sessions, and meetings dedicated to enthusiasts and homebrewers, making the festival a true deep dive into brewing culture.
The event is the perfect opportunity to visit Montenero d'Orcia, an ancient Amiata village with a historic center, monuments, and churches to explore on foot. Organized by the Pro Loco of Montenero d'Orcia with the help of numerous local volunteers, Birragustando has become a highly anticipated date on the summer calendar of the Maremma and Val d'Orcia, attracting thousands of visitors from across Tuscany and beyond every year.
From July 10 to 12, 2026, Montenero d'Orcia (Castel del Piano, Grosseto) hosts the twelfth edition of Birragustando, the craft beer park.
