San Vincenzo transforms into a Wonderland
Every spring, the coastal village of San Vincenzo in the province of Livorno, along the famous Etruscan Coast, transforms into a Wonderland. The Magic Festival has become one of the most anticipated events of the season: for an entire week, squares, pedestrian streets, the Tower, and the seafront become a widespread stage for illusionists, mentalists, and street magic artists from Italy and abroad.
The heart and soul of the festival is Francesco Fontanelli, a renowned local magician known to the general public for his appearances on Italia's Got Talent and Tu Sì Que Vales. He curates the artistic direction, inviting colleagues and talents from all over the world to San Vincenzo to create a program that blends comedy magic, grand illusions, mentalism, and street art suitable for the whole family.
The beauty of the Magic Festival lies in its widespread and free format: not just one stage, but dozens of locations scattered throughout the heart of San Vincenzo. You can stroll among roaming magicians, stop to watch a close-up performance, enter the Tower hall for mentalism evenings, or let the little ones join the magic school to discover the secrets of illusionism.
The highlight of the event is the Magic Grand Gala at the Porto Amphitheatre in Piazza Serini, where Francesco Fontanelli performs alongside nationally and internationally acclaimed illusionists in a grand evening show that combines mentalism, manipulation, fantasy, and magical storytelling.
Organized by the Municipality of San Vincenzo in collaboration with the Pro Loco, the festival has attracted thousands of visitors in recent editions, proving to be a major boost for tourism in the Val di Cornia and the entire Etruscan Coast. The magic doesn't end with the festival: during the summer months, it continues with the Nights of Wonders series, featuring free evening performances at the Tower Garden.
The fourth edition of the Magic Festival took place in San Vincenzo from Saturday, May 30 to Saturday, June 6, 2026, once again turning the coastal village in the province of Livorno into a Wonderland. Under the artistic direction of Francesco Fontanelli, the event offered six free appointments spread across the historic center, the Tower, hu Park Albatros Village, and Piazza Serini, featuring Italian and international illusionists and performers.
Announced artists for the 2026 edition include: Andrea Fratellini (ventriloquist, Italia's Got Talent), Filiberto Selvi, Nestor Hato (France), Alberto Giorgi and Laura, Jenny (Philippines), Mirco Menegatti, and Mago Chico.
The Magic Grand Gala on June 6 at the Porto Amphitheatre, featuring Francesco Fontanelli and six international illusionists, was the most anticipated moment of the 2026 edition, preceded by evenings of mentalism, comedy magic, and street magic.
