About Lvnensia

Where the Roman colony of Luna once stood, ancient Rome comes back to life every summer. Lvnensia is the historical reenactment that animates the archaeological area and the amphitheater of Luni with military camps, tabernae, workshops, theatrical performances, gladiatorial games, and Roman cuisine tastings. An immersive journey into the ancient world, in the most important archaeological site of Lunigiana.

Luni, city of Ancient Rome

Lvnensia is the grand historical reenactment of ancient Rome that takes place in Luni, in the province of La Spezia, at the site of the ancient Roman colony of Luna. The event animates the archaeological area and the evocative Roman Amphitheater, bringing back to life the customs, traditions, and atmospheres of the ancient world.

An immersive experience

For three days, the site is populated by military camps, tabernae (Roman shops), workshops, historical parades, gladiatorial games, and archaeological guided tours. There are also moments dedicated to ancient cuisine, with the thermopolium and tastings inspired by Roman recipes, and cultural insights into the wine and honey of the era.

Culture and entertainment

Organized by APS Amici di Luni together with the National Archaeological Museum and the Municipality, Lvnensia combines education and entertainment. Among the most evocative events are the theatrical performances in the amphitheater. An event that enhances one of Liguria's most important archaeological heritages, in the border territory between Luni and Lunigiana.
