Fiera di San Felice

A fair that comes from afar

The Fiera di San Felice is one of the oldest traditions in the area, in Santo Stefano di Magra (Province of La Spezia). Its 18th-century origins are linked to the transfer of the urn containing the relics of San Felice to the parish church, but the village's market tradition is even older: as early as the Middle Ages, Santo Stefano was an important stop for pilgrims along the Via Francigena, a hub of trade on the road to Rome.

Hundreds of stalls in the heart of the village

Every third Sunday of October, the fair brings hundreds of stalls to the village, winding from Via Togliatti, near the motorway junction, along Via Tavilla, Nenni, and Vecchia del Piano, reaching the historic centre. Among the stalls, you can find everything: artisan products, food items, clothing, and household goods.

The flavours of the territory

The gastronomic heart of the day is the Agri-food Exhibition Market, an opportunity for local operators to showcase the gastronomic traditions of Lunigiana and Val di Magra. In the morning, at 11:00 AM, the solemn Mass in the Church of Santo Stefano Protomartire renews the religious significance of the fair, blending faith, history, and commerce.
