Mussels and stuffed anchovies in the hamlet of Cadimare
The Sagra del Re Muscolo e della Regina Acciuga is one of the most cherished gastronomic festivals in the Gulf of La Spezia. It takes place in Cadimare, an ancient fishing village, now a district of the provincial capital, and celebrates two stars of the local seafood cuisine: the mussel (cozza) and the anchovy, particularly the historic stuffed anchovy.
The event unfolds over several weekends between June and July, enlivening the recently redeveloped areas of the village. Alongside tastings, the festival offers live music and moments of conviviality, attracting over a thousand visitors each weekend.
The festival, organized by the Pro Loco Cadimare, has received recognition as an Authentic Ligurian Event 2026 from the Liguria Region, awarded for its ability to promote the authentic traditions and products of the territory. An event that tells the maritime identity of this corner of La Spezia.
The 2026 edition of the festival enlivens the hamlet of Cadimare over four weekends between June and July: June 19-21 and 26-28, July 3-5 and 9-11.
The food stalls offer traditional seafood dishes โ mussels and stuffed anchovies above all โ accompanied by live music. The event, organized by Pro Loco Cadimare, has been recognized as an Authentic Ligurian Event 2026 by the Liguria Region.
