About LuneLive

LuneLive — BZ City of Music is the new free summer festival that brings live music to Bolzano's neighborhoods from July 6 to August 31, 2026. Every Monday evening, from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, a different square or park hosts a concert featuring jazz, blues, swing, folk, rock, and world music. Promoted by the Bolzano Tourist Board as part of its UNESCO Creative City of Music designation, the event transforms the entire city into a widespread stage accessible to all.

Music takes to the streets of Bolzano

LuneLive — BZ City of Music is the new summer music festival in the capital of South Tyrol, scheduled from July 6 to August 31, 2026. For nine consecutive Mondays, live music moves out of the theaters and into the squares, parks, and public spaces of Bolzano, creating a sonic itinerary that spans the city from the historic center to the outskirts. Each evening runs from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM and is free to attend.

Bolzano, UNESCO Creative City of Music

The festival stems from the recognition Bolzano received in 2023, when the city joined the UNESCO Creative Cities of Music network. LuneLive is part of the official calendar for this designation and represents its most popular and widespread aspect: not a single large concert in one location, but nine traveling events designed to enliven the summer for residents and tourists alike, bringing music to every corner of the municipality. The event is promoted by the Bolzano Tourist Board in collaboration with the Municipality, the Autonomous Region of Trentino-South Tyrol, and WaltherPark.

The program night by night

Each Monday features a different genre and location, offering a musical journey that ranges from jazz, blues, swing, and funk to folk and world rhythms:

  • July 6 — from WaltherPark to the Central Market: BandaStorta with the traveling project "Music On The Road," featuring swing, dixieland, Balkan, and klezmer sounds
  • July 13 — Parco Petrarca: Mad Guitar Trio with "The Master of Guitar"
  • July 20 — Piazzetta Marcella Casagrande: Crowsroads with Roland Egger, an evening of jazz, funk, and soul
  • July 27 — Piazza San Vigilio: Samantha Giordano and Michele Bonivento, blending jazz, soul, and pop
  • August 3 — Piazza Matteotti: Revensch, jazz, klezmer, and Balkan sounds
  • August 10 — Piazza Mazzini: Sissamba, African, Brazilian, and Mediterranean rhythms
  • August 17 — Piazza Firmian: Carlo Poddighe, rock and pop
  • August 24 — Parco Mignone: Whiskey & Ginger Trio, folk and acoustic country
  • August 31 — Parco delle Semirurali: Ina Pross Rock'n'Roll 4et, a grand rock'n'roll finale

More than just concerts

Before each concert, from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM, there is a wellness session in collaboration with Virgin Active, introducing the evening with a few minutes of outdoor movement. The traveling format ensures that every neighborhood, from the center to the Semirurali area, becomes the beating heart of the city's cultural life, highlighting green spaces and squares that rarely host such events.

A widespread and accessible summer

With LuneLive, Bolzano confirms its musical vocation and chooses to make culture accessible to everyone: no tickets, no barriers, just quality live music in the open air on summer evenings. It is an ideal opportunity to discover the many faces of the South Tyrolean capital, whether you are a local or a visitor.
