A Popular Festival in the Heart of Bassa Romagna
The Lugo Unity Festival is one of the most deeply rooted events in the political and popular tradition of the area. In the Municipality of Lugo, in the Province of Ravenna, this festival has been a moment of collective gathering for decades: for eleven consecutive evenings, the outdoor area of the Palazzetto dello Sport in Via Sabin transforms into a large social space where good food, music, and debate coexist under the same sky.
Organized by the local Democratic Party, the festival retains the spirit of the historic Unity Festivals of Emilia-Romagna: a place where families sit down to eat, friends meet, and citizens can listen to and question administrators and national guests. The new setup in Via Sabin, adjacent to the sports hall, offers a comfortable, spacious, and well-served area, ideal for welcoming summer evening crowds.
Three Souls in One Festival
The program is divided into three intertwined themes each evening:
- Romagna Gastronomy — the food stand offers traditional dishes, from homemade pasta to Romagna specialties, in a convivial atmosphere that is the true heart of the festival.
- Live Music — every evening a concert or show animates the stage, ranging from popular music to rock and cabaret.
- Political Meetings — five discussion sessions with local and national guests, on topics ranging from constitutional memory to gender equality, to the challenges facing the center-left in Italy and the world.
A Reference Point for Lugo and Bassa Romagna
Much more than a party event, the Unity Festival is an eagerly awaited occasion for the entire Lugo community, which finds here an opportunity for gathering at the beginning of summer. Its location close to the historic center of Lugo, a city known for the Rocca Estense and the monumental Pavaglione, makes it easily accessible for both residents of the municipality and visitors from other towns in Bassa Romagna and Emilia-Romagna.

2026 Edition
The Lugo Unity Festival 2026 offered eleven consecutive evenings in the Via Sabin area, next to the Palazzetto dello Sport, combining live music, Romagna gastronomy, and five political debate sessions with local and national guests.
The festival kicked off on Friday, May 29, and concluded on Monday, June 8, with an address by Michele de Pascale, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Political Meetings (6:30 PM)
- Friday, May 29 — "La meglio politica. Eighty years after the Constituent Assembly", in collaboration with ANPI Lugo, with Guido Ceroni (President of the Historical Institute of the Resistance) and lawyer Andrea Valentinotti.
- Monday, June 1 — "If I can give you some advice and other unsolicited paternalisms", on gender equality, with Marcella Zappaterra, writer Giulia Blasi, and Valentina Palli (President of the Province of Ravenna), moderated by Mayor Elena Zannoni.
- Friday, June 5 — "Beyond the horizon: building the alternative in a stormy world", with MP Gianni Cuperlo and Davide Ranalli from the PD leadership, moderated by Elisa Andraghetti.
- Monday, June 8, 6:30 PM — Interview with Mayor Elena Zannoni.
- Monday, June 8, 8:30 PM — Address by Michele de Pascale, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, on "The Democratic Party for the Future of Italy".

- Friday, May 29 — Bella Ciao Trio in concert.
- Saturday, May 30 — I Lati Oscuri live.
- Tuesday, June 2 — Goose Trio live.
- Wednesday, June 3 — Cabaret theater with Gianni and Paolo Parmiani.
- Saturday, June 6 — La Confraternita del Punk in concert.
The food stand with traditional Romagna dishes is also open every evening.

Where it takes place
The festival is held in the outdoor area of the Palazzetto dello Sport, in Via Albert Sabin 50, in Lugo (RA), in a spacious and easily accessible area not far from the center.
When
Eleven consecutive evenings from May 29 to June 8. Food stands open in the evening; concerts generally start at 9:00 PM, while political meetings are scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Admission
Admission to the festival area is free. Food and drinks are paid for at the food stand.
How to get there
Lugo is reachable by car from the Via Emilia and the main roads of Bassa Romagna; the Palazzetto dello Sport has parking nearby. Lugo train station is a short distance from the festival area.
