A review on peace as a concrete value
There is a time in spring when Lodi chooses to slow down and focus on a word that is as simple as it is difficult: peace. It is Lodi di Pace, the multidisciplinary review promoted by the Municipality of Lodi which, from April 9 to May 5, 2026, enlivens the provincial capital with a packed agenda of cultural events. Now in its fourth edition, the event chooses the theme "Peace is Profitable" for 2026: an invitation, as the Councillor for Culture Mariarosa De Vecchi explains, to pause and recognize that peace is beneficial for people, the environment, the economy, and the future.
The program intertwines different languages. On the debate front, conferences on current topics arrive in Lodi: fast fashion told by Report journalists, the revolts in Iran, the human cost of the war in Ukraine. Theatre offers civic performances such as "Hanno visto che era un uomo" on Pier Giorgio Frassati, "Tellus" on the theme of migration, and "Marionette" by the Barbagianni company. Music finds its highlight with "The Peace Concert", a recital by jazz pianist Arturo Stalteri.
An important part of the review is dedicated to schools and children, with events such as "Philosophy for children", learning-service paths at the Parco dell'Età , and the flash mob "The Value of Words" in Piazza Matteotti. A way to root the theme of peace in the new generations, beyond rhetoric.
Lodi di Pace uses the main cultural spaces of the city: the Teatro alle Vigne, the Biblioteca Laudense with the Sala Granata, the Liceo "P. Verri", the Parco dell'Età , and other places in the center. A widespread geography that brings reflection into squares and institutions, making peace a shared theme for the provincial capital and the entire province of Lodi.
The 2026 edition, titled "Peace is Profitable", presents peace as a concrete value for people, the environment, the economy, and the future. The program alternates conferences, theatrical performances, music, and educational activities, involving schools and young people in particular. The events take place at the Teatro alle Vigne, the Biblioteca Laudense, the Liceo Verri, and other venues in the center of Lodi.
The complete program, with times and access details, is published on the Municipality of Lodi portal.
