Fifty years of Lodi summer

When June arrives, Lodi changes pace. The evenings get longer, the squares in the historic centre fill with chairs and stages, and Lodi al Sole begins, the review that has accompanied the summer of the capital for half a century. In 2026, the festival reaches its fiftieth edition, an anniversary that falls in a particularly rich year for the city, also coinciding with the anniversary of Lodi's founding (3 August 1158).

A widespread programme, from June to September

Lodi al Sole is not a single event but a container: a review of cultural and artistic initiatives spread between June and September. The programme blends concerts under the stars, theatre performances, open-air cinema, creative workshops for children, and history-themed events, designed to fill summer evenings in the city's most beautiful spaces.

The reviews within the review

Under the umbrella of Lodi al Sole, several events that are now established in the city's calendar find their place:

• Vien Musica dal Chiostro — concerts in the Cloister of the Old Hospital;
• Il Fiume dei Libri — the literary review in June;
• Mercoledì d'Estate — the weekly events at the heart of the season.

The festival is organised by the Municipality of Lodi through the Culture Office, in collaboration with local entities and associations, which propose their events each year through a public call. It is this open mechanism that allows the programme to grow and become a mirror of the cultural vitality of Lodi and its province.
