The cloister that comes back to life

There is a corner of Lodi that many, even among the locals, do not know: the Cloister of the Old Hospital, one of the most charming historic spaces in the provincial capital. For five years, every summer, this place has come alive with music and art thanks to Vien Musica dal Chiostro, the review created by the Pro Loco of Lodi precisely to give new life to the cloister. As the president of the Pro Loco, Ettore Cattani, recalls, the event was born to bring the city back to one of its most beautiful places.

Four months under the sign of the Earth

The 2026 edition, the fifth, unfolds over a very long period: from May 5 to September 13, four months of musical and artistic events. The chosen common thread is "The Earth", interpreted in the image of the journey "from furrow to seed, to fruit". A theme that links the review to the agricultural vocation of the Lodi territory and that intertwines with the tribute to Paolo Gorini, a scientist, inventor, and researcher from Lodi historically linked to this place.

Music and visual arts together

The formula of Vien Musica dal Chiostro combines concerts and visual art, making the languages dialogue in the intimate space of the cloister. The review is part of the broader summer city program of Lodi al Sole and enjoys the patronage of the Lombardy Region, as well as contributions from the Fondazione Comunitaria della provincia di Lodi, the Fondazione LGH, and Confcommercio.

A project for the territory

Behind the review is a network of local entities: in addition to the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Lodi, the Crocevia association. An example of culture built from the ground up, which has managed to transform a forgotten courtyard into one of the most beloved events of the summer in the provincial capital of Lodi.
