The White City at the heart of the Apulian touring festival: John Legend and Cosmo at dawn
The Locus Festival is Apulia's most important touring music event: founded in 2005 in Locorotondo and organized by the Bass Culture association, every summer it brings big names from the Italian and international music scene to squares, masserie, archaeological sites, and arenas throughout the region. For its 22nd edition, dedicated to the Miles Davis centenary, the festival runs between June and September 2026 and chooses Ostuni, the famous White City in the province of Brindisi, as one of its most fascinating venues with two very different evenings.
The first major Ostuni appointment is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Arena Bianca (the former Foro Boario), where John Legend takes the stage with his show «A Night of Songs & Stories». This is the only date in Southern Italy for this intimate show, in which the American singer-songwriter's soul voice retraces over twenty years of his career, alternating stripped-back versions of his greatest hits — from All of Me to Ordinary People and Tonight — with stories, anecdotes, and personal reflections. A concert designed for an audience that loves great singer-songwriter music in a refined setting.
The second event is one of the most original of the entire edition: Saturday, August 15, 2026, on the occasion of Ferragosto, the Archaeological and Naturalistic Park of Santa Maria di Agnano hosts Cosmo's dawn matinée. It is a sonic awakening that guides the audience from sleep to the full light of day as the sun rises over the park, in a unique and evocative location at the foot of the White City. The «Matinée Tour» thus reinvents the traditional Apulian Ferragosto in a collective and immersive experience.
The Ostuni stops are part of a program that in 2026 crosses numerous Apulian locations — from the Fiera del Levante in Bari to the Masseria Ferragnano in Locorotondo, passing through Molfetta, Alberobello, Andria, Minervino Murge, Castellana, and Fasano — with guests such as David Byrne, Skunk Anansie, Marcus Miller, Mannarino, Thundercat, Subsonica, and many others. Experiencing Locus in Ostuni means attending a great concert and, at the same time, discovering one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, perched and whitewashed with lime above the plain of ancient olive trees, in the heart of the province of Brindisi.
In 2026, the Locus Festival stops in Ostuni (Brindisi) with two events of its 22nd edition. Friday, July 24, the Arena Bianca welcomes John Legend with the intimate show «A Night of Songs & Stories», the only date in Southern Italy; Saturday, August 15, the Archaeological Park of Santa Maria di Agnano hosts Cosmo's dawn matinée, a sonic awakening designed for Ferragosto. Two evenings at opposite ends — soul singer-songwriter music and the electronic ritual of dawn — that tell the eclectic soul of the Apulian festival well.
Intimate show retracing over twenty years of career with stripped-back versions of his greatest hits (All of Me, Ordinary People, Tonight) intertwined with stories and personal reflections.
Sonic awakening at dawn that reinvents Ferragosto: a journey from sleep to the full light of day as the sun rises over the archaeological and naturalistic park at the foot of the White City.
Ostuni can be reached by car from the SS379 Bari-Brindisi road (Ostuni exit); by train, the Ostuni station is on the Adriatic line (Bari-Lecce), about 3 km from the center, connected by shuttles. The nearest airports are Brindisi and Bari. The Arena Bianca (former Foro Boario) is located at the gates of the center; the Park of Santa Maria di Agnano is just outside the city.
Tickets for John Legend and Cosmo's matinée are on sale through official Ticketone and Vivaticket networks and via Bass Culture channels; info at [email protected].
For Cosmo's dawn matinée, arrive well in advance during the night and bring something warm for the early morning chill. Take advantage of the day for a walk through the white alleys of Ostuni's historic center.
