About Little Sicily

Little Sicily – The Best of Sicily is a major food and wine festival that transforms the center of Capo d'Orlando, on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Nebrodi mountains in the province of Messina, into a gourmet village every year. Between Piazza Matteotti and the pedestrian area of Via Crispi, dozens of charming wooden chalets host producers and companies from all over Sicily: street food, local products, craft beers, and regional specialties are paired with live music and evening shows in a free event that blends cuisine, folklore, and tradition.

Little Sicily, a showcase of Sicilian taste

Promoted by the Municipality of Capo d'Orlando with the support of the Regional Department of Productive Activities as part of the "Sicilia che Piace" program, Little Sicily – The Best of Sicily is one of the most anticipated food and wine events on the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina. For an entire weekend, the heart of the town dresses up for the occasion and becomes a large gourmet village dedicated to celebrating the island's finest products.

Wooden chalets and products from all over Sicily

The heart of the event is represented by the charming wooden chalets set up in Piazza Matteotti and along the first part of the Via Crispi pedestrian zone. Here, numerous gastronomic companies from every corner of Sicily offer tastings and specialties to enjoy while strolling. Among the most popular offerings:

  • Nebrodi black pork porchetta, the pride of the mountain territory behind Capo d'Orlando;
  • Messina-style involtini (meat rolls) and fried pizza;
  • panino con le panelle (chickpea fritter sandwich), a symbol of Sicilian street food;
  • waffles, smash burgers, and various desserts;
  • a rich selection of craft beers.

Music, folklore, and evening atmosphere

Beyond the culinary aspect, Little Sicily focuses heavily on entertainment. Every evening, the square comes alive with live concerts and shows that attract families, residents, and tourists alike, in a festive atmosphere that blends food, music, and popular tradition. The event is designed to be enjoyed on foot, with stands open from late afternoon until night and stages entertaining the public until late.

Capo d'Orlando, between the sea and the Nebrodi

Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and dominated by the picturesque promontory with its sanctuary, Capo d'Orlando is one of the most vibrant towns in the province of Messina, in Sicily. Its location, nestled between the coastal beaches and the forests of the Nebrodi Park, makes it an ideal setting for an event that celebrates the encounter between the bounty of the sea and the inland traditions. Little Sicily thus contributes to the tourism promotion of the municipality and the entire Nebrodi area.
