The international film festival dedicated to the great themes of existence
The Life Beyond Life Film Festival is a one-of-a-kind international cinematic event: it is the only festival in the world entirely dedicated to the major themes of existence, the afterlife, destiny, and end-of-life care. Established in 2021, the event has gained an increasingly wide audience over the years thanks to a program that combines cinematic quality with deep reflection. In Pino Torinese, within the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont, the festival finds one of its main venues at the Auditorium of the Centro Polifunzionale in Piazza Maria Montessori.
The event is promoted by the Università Popolare ArtInMovimento APS and directed by Annunziato Gentiluomo. Over the years, the festival has taken on an increasingly itinerant character, reaching various locations in the Turin area: in addition to Pino Torinese, screenings are held in Turin, Avigliana, and Almese. This choice stems from the desire to share messages and reflections with the widest possible audience, bringing auteur cinema outside of major urban circuits.
Each edition features a rigorous selection of works chosen from hundreds of international submissions. The program alternates between feature films, documentaries, and short films from dozens of countries across five continents, with a particular focus on the anthropological and spiritual nature of the stories told. Screenings are often accompanied by the presence of the directors, who engage in discussions with the audience.
The Life Beyond Life Film Festival represents a significant cultural appointment for the Municipality of Pino Torinese and the entire metropolitan area. The festival enjoys the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Turin and numerous municipalities, and collaborates with organizations such as A.R.E.I. and the Religion Today Film Festival. It is an opportunity to experience cinema in a different way, guided by films that address the most universal human questions with delicacy and depth.
The sixth edition of the Life Beyond Life Film Festival confirmed the traveling nature of the event, taking place from May 14 to 20, 2026, across Turin, Pino Torinese, Avigliana, and Almese. In Pino Torinese, screenings were held on May 16 and 17 at the Auditorium of the Centro Polifunzionale (Piazza Maria Montessori), running continuously from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The 2026 selection brought together 49 international films chosen from over 360 submissions, coming from numerous countries including the United States, Spain, Israel, France, Portugal, South Korea, Canada, the United Kingdom, Iran, Lebanon, and Italy. Among the documentaries screened in Pino Torinese were Evidence of the Afterlife, In Search of Immortality, and Annu, alongside numerous international short films.
