The City of Books
Sarzana (Province of La Spezia) has always been connected to the world of books and publishing, and Libri per Strada is the event that makes it its summer symbol. Considered one of the first itinerant book festivals born in Italy, it is an event promoted by the booksellers of the historic center, custodians of a city tradition that has few equals.
Stalls, Authors, and Meetings
For several days, the squares of the center — particularly Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Luni — fill with bookstalls, featuring new releases, sought-after titles, and volumes for all ages. Alongside the stalls, the program offers meetings with authors, presentations, and initiatives dedicated to readers, in an informal and welcoming atmosphere.
A Celebration of Reading
Libri per Strada is much more than a book market: it is a widespread celebration of reading that enhances the role of independent bookstores and makes Sarzana a reference point for lovers of the printed word. Libri per Strada — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Libri per Strada enlivens Sarzana from July 29 to August 2, between Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Luni. Promoted by the booksellers of the historic center, the festival offers bookstalls, author meetings, presentations, and initiatives for readers of all ages. How to Get Here
By train: Sarzana station on the Genoa–La Spezia–Pisa line. By car: A12 or A15, Sarzana exit. The stalls and meetings are held between Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Luni.

Free admission. The schedule of meetings will be distributed by the organizers closer to the event.
