A night of fried fish in Levo, above Stresa

The Levo Fish Festival is one of the most anticipated summer culinary events in Levo, a hillside hamlet overlooking Stresa from above, with stunning views of Lake Maggiore in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province of Piedmont. For one evening, the small community of Levo opens its doors to residents, vacationers, and tourists for a convivial dinner dedicated to fried fish and good company.

The star dish: mixed fried fish

The heart of the festival is the famous mixed fried lake and sea fish, a specialty that combines freshwater catches typical of the Verbano region with seafood, served hot and crispy. Alongside the fish, past editions have also featured grilled meats, sausages, and roast beef to satisfy every palate. All this takes place in a simple and genuine atmosphere, typical of authentic Piedmontese village festivals.

Music and conviviality

The dinner is accompanied by live music: every year, a band brings the evening to life, turning the Pro Levo square into a meeting point for the community. It is a chance to spend time together under the stars in one of the most charming hamlets in the Lake Maggiore hinterland, far from the crowds of the Stresa lakefront.

A Pro Levo event

The event is organized by the Pro Levo Association, which is active in promoting and enlivening the village. As is the case with many festivals in the small hamlets of the Municipality of Stresa, the Fish Festival is entirely run by volunteers and represents an important moment of community life, as well as an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the region.

Where and when

The event takes place at the Pro Levo headquarters in Piazza Montegrappa, in the village of Levo, Stresa. Dinner generally starts at 7:30 PM. Reservations are highly recommended and are also available for takeaway service by contacting the association representatives.
