The art and wine festival in historic Versilia
The Levigliani Wine Art Festival is one of the most distinctive summer events in Versilia. It takes place in Levigliani, a small hamlet in the municipality of Stazzema, in the province of Lucca, perched high in the Apuan Alps just a few kilometers from the Versilian coast. For a few summer nights, the entire village dresses up for the occasion: once you cross the entrance gate, a path of torches, candles, and evocative light and shadow displays guides visitors through the alleys and squares, which are transformed into spaces for tastings, performances, and exhibitions.
The festival was born from the encounter between wine and art, as the subtitle "Art and wine festival in historic Versilia" suggests. Along the route, you can sample over one hundred labels from the best local and national wine producers, accompanied by craft beers and specialties of the Versilian gastronomic tradition, served at a dozen refreshment points scattered throughout the village.
Alongside wine, the soul of the event is live art. In various spots set up among the houses, acrobats, stilt walkers, tightrope walkers, musicians, and street artists take turns performing, while art and photography exhibitions bring the village spaces to life. Each evening, over a hundred artists create a multidisciplinary program that blends circus, music, and visual arts, offering an enchanting atmosphere under the starry Apuan sky.
Levigliani is an ideal starting point for discovering the most authentic side of Versilia: the village lies on the slopes of Monte Corchia, home to the karst complex of the Antro del Corchia, one of the most extensive cave systems in Italy. The event, organized by local groups with the patronage of the Municipality of Stazzema, attracts thousands of visitors every year and has become a staple of the Tuscan summer, successfully combining the conviviality of fine wine with the beauty of the Apuan landscape.
Now in its second decade, the Levigliani Wine Art Festival celebrates the identity of the mountain community and the revitalization of the village, turning August evenings into a multisensory experience where wine, art, and tradition meet in the heart of historic Versilia.
The Levigliani Wine Art Festival 2026 takes place from July 30 to August 2, 2026 in the village of Levigliani (Stazzema, LU). As per tradition, the village is transformed into an immersive route with over one hundred wine labels, food stalls featuring Versilian cuisine, exhibitions, music, and street artists including acrobats, tightrope walkers, and stilt walkers.
The dates are confirmed on the official festival website. The complete program for the three-four days, including the performance line-up, times, and a map of the locations, will be announced by the organizers closer to the event.
Levigliani is a hamlet of the Municipality of Stazzema (LU), in the Apuan Alps. By car, it can be reached from the Versilian coast (take the Versilia exit on the A12 motorway) by driving up towards the mountains. During the festival, a shuttle service usually runs from the towns in the valley to facilitate access to the village.
