The ridge-running skyrace of Ledro, a stage of the Golden Trail World Series
The Ledro Sky Trentino is the flagship mountain running event in the Ledro Valley, within the municipality of Ledro, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. With its start and finish in Pieve di Ledro, the race winds along a 21 km course with 1,700 meters of vertical gain, alternating between challenging climbs, adrenaline-fueled descents, and breathtaking views overlooking Lake Ledro and the Trentino Upper Garda area.
The route climbs to high altitude to traverse the spectacular ridges of the Ledro mountains, known locally as greste. After an initial scenic stretch along the lake, runners tackle the ascent to Monte Cocca up to Bocca di Saval, before joining the famous Senter de le Greste, the ridge line connecting Cima Parì, Cima Sclapa, and Cima d'Oro along the Pichea-Rocchetta spine. These are exposed, technical sections offering 360-degree views of the Prealps and Lake Garda. The spectacular finale takes place on the Ledro Trek Low, also known as the Sentiero dei Piloni, which leads back from Mezzolago to the finish line in Pieve di Ledro. The area is part of the Alpi Ledrensi Reserve Network, recognized by the UNESCO MAB program.
Ledro Sky Trentino has officially joined the Golden Trail World Series by Salomon, a circuit that brings together the best trail runners in the world for the most spectacular races on the planet. After hosting the Grand Finale of the circuit in 2025, the valley has become a permanent fixture on the international calendar, with global television coverage on Warner Bros. Discovery platforms. A new honor, the Damiano Gnuffi Trophy, rewards the fastest male and female athletes on the Parì-Cima d'Oro segment.
Alongside the main race, the Mini Ledro Sky Trentino is dedicated to children up to 13 years old: a non-competitive course along the lake in the traffic-free center of Pieve di Ledro, complete with refreshments and a souvenir for all young participants. Race day thus becomes a mountain sports festival for the entire Ledro Valley community, with spectators lining the course, awards ceremonies, and a strong connection to the local territory, its Great War history, and the protected environment of the Ledro Alps.
Organized by the SSD Tremalzo sports club, the event showcases one of the most authentic corners of Trentino: the Ledro Valley, with its swimmable lake, alpine villages, and a dense network of trails that make it an ideal destination for trail running and hiking in every season.
The Ledro Sky Trentino 2026 was held on Sunday, May 24, with start and finish in Pieve di Ledro, as a stage of the Golden Trail World Series by Salomon circuit. In parallel, the Mini Ledro Sky Trentino was held for children up to 13 years old.
