About Lederhosen- & Musikfest Latsch

The Lederhosen- & Musikfest is the traditional August festival organized by the Bürgerkapelle Latsch (Civic Brass Band of Laces) in the heart of Val Venosta, South Tyrol. Enjoy two days of folk music, brass bands, Schuhplattler performances, and local culinary specialties at the Laces/Latsch Festplatz, with free admission. Saturday night is dedicated to party music with guest groups from South Tyrol and Bavaria, while Sunday features brass concerts, children's entertainment, and the traditional coffee and cake stand hosted by the parish choir.

The Lederhosen- & Musikfest in Laces

The Lederhosen- & Musikfest der Bürgerkapelle Latsch is one of the most beloved popular festivals in the municipality of Laces/Latsch, located in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, in Trentino-South Tyrol. Every year, on the first weekend of August, the Bürgerkapelle Latsch (the Civic Brass Band of Laces) transforms the local Festplatz into a vibrant open-air meeting point, where music, tradition, and conviviality blend in the true South Tyrolean spirit.

Folk music and Bavarian atmosphere

As the name suggests, the festival combines the Lederhosenfest — featuring traditional costumes, Lederhosen, and Dirndl — with the Musikfest, the brass band celebration. The program alternates South Tyrolean brass music (Blasmusik) with the high energy of party bands, creating a warm and familiar atmosphere appreciated by both Val Venosta locals and visitors staying in the Laces-Martello area.

  • Saturday night: Opening with Schuhplattler groups, the brass ensemble Blechbeat7 from South Tyrol, and the party band Rotzlöffl from Bavaria, for an evening of dancing and celebration until late.
  • Sunday: A day dedicated to brass music, featuring open-air concerts, children's entertainment by the VKE, and the traditional break with coffee and cakes offered by the Laces parish choir (Kirchenchor).
  • The event also includes a raffle with great prizes and stands serving South Tyrolean food and drinks.

The Bürgerkapelle Latsch

The festival is organized and hosted by the Bürgerkapelle Latsch, the town's civic brass band and the heart of local cultural life. Through this event, the band renews a deep-rooted tradition every year, bringing generations together through folk music and the typical costumes of Tyrolean culture.

An event for the whole family

With free admission, a children's play area, and a program ranging from brass bands to party music, the Lederhosen- & Musikfest is designed for all ages. It is the perfect opportunity to experience an authentic summer weekend in Val Venosta, nestled in the South Tyrolean mountains and immersed in the hospitality and traditions of the Laces community.
