The festival that unlocks the city's palaces, churches, and secret Arab-Norman sites

Le Vie dei Tesori is a major cultural event that, every autumn, opens the doors of dozens of Sicilian cities: private palaces, churches, museums, crypts, and archaeological sites become accessible to the public thanks to an affordable coupon system. In Mazara del Vallo, in the province of Trapani, the festival guides visitors through a city that has been a crossroads of civilizations for centuries, spanning from the Arab Casbah district to Norman churches and Baroque treasures.
The municipality of Mazara del Vallo is more than just the famous Dancing Satyr: the festival invites you to look further, exploring narrow Arab-style alleys, medieval abbeys, and noble palaces. Over the years, the Mazara itinerary has included sites such as the Diocesan Museum, the Norman-era church of San Nicolò Regale, the Abbey of Santa Maria dell'Alto, the church of San Francesco with its crypt, the Teatro Garibaldi, and natural landmarks like the Lago Preola and Gorghi Tondi Reserve.
In Mazara del Vallo, the festival is part of a provincial circuit alongside Trapani and Alcamo: a single coupon allows access to sites in all three cities, showcasing the entire Trapani territory in Sicily. The event is organized by the Fondazione Le Vie dei Tesori, in collaboration with the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo, local associations, and cultural organizations.
Le Vie dei Tesori is not just a fair, but an invitation to experience the city at a leisurely pace: book a coupon, choose the places to visit, and let yourself be guided through the Arab, Norman, Baroque, and contemporary heritage of Mazara del Vallo. It is an opportunity for both residents and tourists to rediscover the identity of one of the most fascinating cities in Western Sicily.
The 2026 edition of Le Vie dei Tesori in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, is anticipated following the success of previous years. At the moment, dates and the detailed program have not yet been published. Typically, the festival brings the city to life in autumn with guided tours of palaces, Norman churches, and sites within the Arab Casbah, as well as experiences and tastings. Updates will be available on the official Fondazione Le Vie dei Tesori website.
Mazara del Vallo can be reached by car via the A29 Palermo–Mazara del Vallo motorway. The train station is connected to the Trapani–Palermo line. The nearest airports are Trapani–Birgi and Palermo–Punta Raisi.
Access to sites is managed via coupons, which can be purchased online at the official website leviedeitesori.com or at local information points. Prices and terms vary from year to year; recent editions offered multi-visit coupons and reduced-price single tickets, as well as specially priced walks and experiences.
We recommend booking popular tours in advance and wearing comfortable shoes for navigating the alleys of the historic center.
