About Latiano Food Festival

Every summer, the Latiano Food Festival turns the Piazzale dei Musei in Latiano, in the province of Brindisi, into a vast open-air restaurant dedicated to the flavors of the Upper Salento. Organized by the cultural association Officina delle Idee, the event brings together food stalls, local wines, and craft beers, accompanied by live music. It is a culinary celebration designed to showcase traditional Apulian products and bring the town center to life during the warm July nights, following the motto "Live it, eat it, listen to it."

A food festival in the heart of the Upper Salento

The Latiano Food Festival is the premier summer culinary event in the town of Latiano, located in the province of Brindisi, in the heart of the Apulian Upper Salento. For one or more evenings, the Piazzale dei Musei on Via Alcide De Gasperi transforms into a large open-air restaurant where visitors can savor the excellence of local culinary traditions amidst enticing aromas, vibrant colors, and live music.

Who organizes the event

The festival is conceived and managed by the Officina delle Idee cultural association, a group of young locals dedicated to promoting the region and its resources. The event is part of the town's summer calendar promoted by the Municipality, which offers residents and visitors a variety of shows, festivals, sports, and cultural appointments throughout the warm months.

What to eat and drink

The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls that showcase Apulian tradition in all its nuances. Offerings include:

  • handmade fresh pasta, from orecchiette to classic Salento dishes;
  • grilled meats and deli specialties;
  • local dairy products and cheeses;
  • fried treats and typical Upper Salento delicacies;
  • local wines and craft beers to pair with your meal.

All this takes place in a convivial and popular atmosphere, perfect for families, groups of friends, and curious passersby.

Music and atmosphere

The culinary experience is complemented by entertainment: the evenings of the Latiano Food Festival are enlivened by live music and performances that accompany the tastings, following the formula summarized by the event's slogan, "Live it, eat it, listen to it." The squares and streets around the Piazzale dei Musei fill with people until late at night, making it one of the most anticipated nights of the Latiano summer.

Latiano and its traditions

Situated between Brindisi and the Salento, Latiano is known for its rural heritage and the patronal feast dedicated to Saint Margaret. The Food Festival fits perfectly into this convivial spirit, offering residents and tourists an opportunity to discover the authentic flavors of Apulia in an informal and accessible setting.
