Art, tradition, and culture in the heart of the Alta Langa in Rocca Cigliè
LangArte is the annual spring event that puts the spotlight on the small town of Rocca Cigliè, nestled among the hills of the Alta Langa in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont). Created to promote the region and its roots, the festival combines art, culture, popular traditions, and local products into a single day of celebration, attracting visitors from across the region and highlighting the gastronomic and artisanal excellence of the Langa.
The common thread of LangArte is the dialogue between art and heritage. The heart of the day consists of guided tours of the village's iconic landmarks, organized by the Italian Institute of Castles as part of the National Castle Day: the Chapel of the Assumption, with its precious 15th-century frescoes, the civic tower, and the ancient community oven, a living testament to village life. The Cultural Center hosts an art exhibition, such as the watercolor displays dedicated in recent years to the landscapes and colors of the hills.
In Piazza Balcone di Langa, you will find food and wine stalls alongside artistic and craft stands, where you can taste and purchase typical local products. A must-try is the traditional afternoon snack featuring curniele, prepared by the Amici del Forno Association, followed by a sunset aperitif that concludes the day in a convivial atmosphere.
LangArte is much more than a village fair: it is an opportunity to discover the Alta Langa, away from mass tourism, by celebrating its beauty, landscape, and sense of community. In recent years, the event has also seen the participation of the Province of Cuneo, confirming its role as a showcase for local excellence. It is a day that unites identity, culture, and hospitality, perfect for discovering an authentic corner of Piedmont.
On Sunday, May 17, 2026, Rocca Cigliè hosted the twelfth edition of LangArte, the event dedicated to promoting the territory, art, and traditions of the Alta Langa.
Throughout the day, guided tours were offered, curated by the Italian Institute of Castles as part of the National Castle Day, covering the Chapel of the Assumption with its 15th-century frescoes, the civic tower, and the community oven. The Cultural Center hosted a watercolor exhibition by artist Alain Guidetti, while Piazza Balcone di Langa featured food and wine stalls and artistic stands. The edition also saw the participation of the Province of Cuneo, with President Luca Robaldo.
Rocca Cigliè is located in the Alta Langa, in the province of Cuneo. By car, it can be reached from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Mondovì or Ceva exit), then continuing along the hilly roads towards the village. The nearest train station is Ceva, from where you can continue by car.
The event traditionally takes place on the third Sunday of May, with a program running from the morning until the evening aperitif.
Admission to the festival and the stalls is free; for lunch at the Multipurpose Hall, booking is recommended. Comfortable shoes are recommended for the guided tours of the village. For information, please contact the Municipality of Rocca Cigliè.
