An open-air rock night in the heart of the Vercelli plains, Lamporo
In the heart of the Vercelli rice-growing plains, the small town of Lamporo (Province of Vercelli, Piedmont) lights up the summer with Lamporock, a live rock music night that brings the village square to life. It is a free, open-air event, supported by the local municipality, which draws both residents and visitors from neighboring towns for a night of great music and entertainment.
Lamporock belongs to that wonderful Piedmontese tradition of summer square festivals, where the town center is transformed into a stage for the night. Here, however, the focus isn't on a food festival, but on rock: electric guitars, drums, and gritty vocals bring the energy of the great classics to the stage, in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where friends gather to dance and sing their hearts out.
The evening is built around a live concert that fills the Lamporo square until late at night. To manage the event, the municipality issues specific traffic and safety ordinances each year, a testament to the crowds the festival attracts to a town of just a few hundred inhabitants. The result is one of those summer nights that stays etched in the community's memory.
Lamporo is located in the eastern part of the Province of Vercelli, just a few kilometers from the border with the Province of Turin, in a landscape dominated by the rice paddies that define this part of Piedmont. Visiting Lamporock is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Vercelli plains, far from the beaten tourist track, where village life and hospitality are still the main attractions.
With its simple and direct spirit, Lamporock confirms how even small towns can host evenings of great music and social connection, keeping the tradition of summer square festivals alive.
The 2026 edition of Lamporock was held on Friday, June 12, 2026, in the square of Lamporo (VC), confirmed by municipal ordinances no. 1/2026 and no. 2/2026 dedicated to traffic management and safety for the event.
The star of the evening was Radiofreccia Torino, a historic Turin tribute band active since 2000 and dedicated to the repertoire of Ligabue. The five-piece band, led by the raspy voice of singer Francesco, brought a concert to the square built around the greatest hits of Italian rock, with a live show lasting about two hours.
During the evening, municipal ordinances no. 1/2026 and no. 2/2026 regarding traffic and parking in the streets around the square remained in effect.
Lamporock is held in the central square of Lamporo (VC), in Piedmont. The event is outdoors.
By car: Lamporo can be reached via the A4 Turin-Milan motorway (Santhià or Cigliano exits) and the provincial roads of the Vercelli plains. By train: the nearest stations are Santhià and Cigliano, on the Turin-Milan line, from where you can continue by car.
The event takes place in the square and is free to attend.
During the evening, municipal ordinances regarding traffic and parking in the streets adjacent to the square are in effect: it is best to follow the signs and park in the designated areas. We recommend checking the date and times on the official channels of the Municipality of Lamporo before setting off.
