The Emilian red sparkling wines showcased at the Corte Ospitale in Rubiera
In the heart of the Po Valley, in Rubiera (province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna), Lambrusco a Corte comes to life, the exhibition entirely dedicated to the wine that more than any other tells the Emilian identity. Lambrusco, with its ruby color and effervescence, has been the companion of the Romagnola and Emilian table for generations: here it becomes the absolute protagonist of a weekend of tastings, meetings, and wine culture.
The event takes place at the Corte Ospitale, a 16th-century monumental complex on Via Fontana 2, an ancient place of hospitality for pilgrims along the Via Emilia. Its cloister hosts the tasting counters, one for each winery, in an atmosphere that combines the charm of historic stone with the convivial buzz of a wine festival.
There are 36 wineries as protagonists, representing the four provinces that make Lambrusco a true interregional heritage: Reggio Emilia, Modena, Parma, and Mantua. Visitors can compare the different souls of the wine—from traditional frizzante wines to sparkling wines made with Metodo Classico and Charmat—and discover the DOC and IGP denominations of the territory.
In addition to the tasting counters, the program includes guided tastings by ONAV sommeliers and thematic masterclasses that delve into the style and history of Lambrusco. Ample space is given to pairings with Emilian gastronomic excellences: Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, erbazzone, salami, and balsamic vinegar, in a dialogue that enhances both the wine and the typical products.
The exhibition is the result of collaboration between ONAV Reggio Emilia, the Regional Wine Cellar of Emilia-Romagna, the Consorzio Tutela Lambrusco, and the Municipality of Rubiera, with the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region. An initiative that networks institutions, producers, and enthusiasts to promote one of Italy's most beloved and widespread oenological symbols.
The inaugural edition of Lambrusco a Corte enlivened the Corte Ospitale in Rubiera on the weekend of May 16 and 17, 2026. In the 16th-century cloister, 36 tasting counters were set up, one for each participating winery, featuring traditional frizzante wines, Metodo Classico, and Charmat sparkling wines from the four Lambrusco provinces.
The program alternated between free tastings at the counters and guided sessions led by ONAV sommeliers, with thematic masterclasses and pairings with Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, erbazzone, and Reggiano salami. A debut that confirmed Rubiera as the new showcase for Emilia's symbolic wine.
Among the 36 participating wineries were Emilian producers such as Umberto Cavicchioli, Venturini Baldini, and Corte Manzini, representing the provinces of Reggio Emilia, Modena, Parma, and Mantua.
