Tripe from tradition for the feast of the patron saint San Bassiano
In Pizzighettone (province of Cremona), the feast of the patron saint San Bassiano, celebrated on January 19th, is accompanied by a highly anticipated gastronomic event: "La Trìpa de San Basiàn", dedicated to one of the most iconic dishes of Cremonese cuisine, tripe.
The festival takes place in the heated casemates of the ancient Walls, in Via Boneschi, a characteristic environment that offers shelter and warmth on cold winter days. For three days, visitors can enjoy tripe prepared according to the traditional recipe, along with other typical local dishes.
The event, now in its 16th edition, is organized by the Lions Club Pizzighettone Città Murata and has a strong charitable focus, in line with the service club's mission. The event thus combines the promotion of local gastronomic tradition with solidarity efforts, as part of the celebrations for the patron saint of the walled town of Cremona.
The 2026 edition, the sixteenth, takes place in the heated casemates of Via Boneschi in Pizzighettone on January 16, 17, and 18, on the occasion of the feast of patron saint San Bassiano (January 19). The event, organized by the Lions Club Pizzighettone Città Murata, offers tripe according to the traditional recipe and typical Cremonese dishes, with charitable purposes.
