The Thanksgiving Festival is one of the most cherished events in Ripalta Guerina, a small municipality in the Cremasco area, province of Cremona. Dedicated to the agricultural world, the festival renews the community's bond with the land and the work in the fields each year, in an atmosphere of gratitude and conviviality.
The blessing of the tractors
The most characteristic moment is the Holy Mass followed by the blessing of the tractors, which then parade through the village streets in a picturesque procession. It is a rite that combines faith and peasant tradition, particularly felt in a territory with a strong agricultural vocation like the Cremasco region.
Lunch in the piazza and spirit of solidarity
After the blessing, the festival continues with an aperitif and lunch in the piazza, with a menu based on polenta, cured meats, cotechino, cheeses, and many other specialties. In the afternoon, roasted chestnuts are enjoyed and themed games with rich prizes are held. Organized by the parish oratory in collaboration with the Municipality, the event has a strong spirit of solidarity: the proceeds are donated to charity.
Thanksgiving Festival — edition 2026
The Thanksgiving Festival returns to Ripalta Guerina on the last Sunday of October 2026, true to the tradition that dedicates it to the agricultural world. The parish oratory, in collaboration with the municipal administration, offers a day of celebration and community.
The program includes the opening of the bar in the morning, Holy Mass with the blessing of the tractors and their parade through the village streets, an aperitif, and lunch in the piazza with polenta, cured meats, cotechino, and cheeses.
