Tavigliano's charity evening in support of Domus Laetitiae
Some events are worth far more than their program, as they have the power to turn an ordinary evening into a collective gesture. La solidarietà… che unisce is exactly that: a charity evening held in Tavigliano, a small town in the Province of Biella, Piedmont, which for over a decade has brought together athletes, musicians, volunteers, and families around a common goal.
The event is organized by the Piccolo Fiore Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Tavigliano and the Valle dell'Acqua, and takes place at the Centro Polivalente on Via Meliga. Admission is by voluntary donation: all proceeds are donated to the socio-educational projects of the social cooperative Domus Laetitiae, a local Biella organization dedicated to supporting and welcoming the most vulnerable individuals.
The formula behind the event's success combines three key ingredients. First, sports, with champions and athletes sharing their experiences—either in person or through video messages—on how commitment and sporting values can become tools for solidarity. Second, live music, which warms up the evening and keeps the audience entertained until late. Finally, the involvement of children: local schoolchildren are often the stars of the show, reminding us that generosity is learned early.
Each edition is guided by a theme that captures the spirit of the gathering. In 2026, the evening centered on the words of Desmond Tutu: "Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."
Reaching its thirteenth edition in 2026, La solidarietà… che unisce is now a fixed date on the Tavigliano calendar, eagerly awaited every spring. Its strength lies in its ability to unite: an entire town, associations, schools, and well-known figures from sports and entertainment, all on the same side. For those visiting the Biella area in spring, it is a precious opportunity to discover the community life of a small village at the foot of the Alps and to support a concrete cause with a small gesture.
