The vintage cycling re-enactment between Cervia and Romagna
The La Divina Vintage Cycling Race is a non-competitive cycling re-enactment that celebrates the charm of heroic cycling: vintage bicycles, wool jerseys, and a slow pace designed to enjoy the scenery. Organized by FIAB Ravenna, the event alternates its location each year between the Municipalities of Ravenna and Cervia: in 2026, it is Cervia, on the Adriatic coast in the province of Ravenna, that hosts the start and finish, with an itinerary that goes from the coast into the hinterland and the gentle Romagna countryside.
Following in the footsteps of events like L'Eroica, La Divina is not a race but a collective ride that takes you back in time. Road racing bicycles built before 1987 are permitted, with steel frames, downtube shifters, pedals with toe clips and straps, and exposed brake cables. The clothing must also be period-appropriate: wool or silk jerseys, no Lycra, and vintage accessories or faithful reproductions. This attention to detail transforms each edition into a travelling museum.
The event offers two controlled-pace routes, guided by FIAB escorts: a Short route of approximately 40 kilometres and a Long route of approximately 70 kilometres, on roads open to traffic, both paved and unpaved. Participants ride in a group, respecting the Highway Code, with refreshment stops along the way and a welcome point at the finish.
La Divina is part of the national circuit of the Giro d'Italia d'Epoca, which brings together the main Italian vintage cycling events. Founded in 2021 as "Dante 700" on the Ravenna-Cervia axis, the event has grown edition after edition to become a highly anticipated appointment for enthusiasts from all over the peninsula. In addition to the ride, the weekend revolves around the "Villaggio Divina" (Divine Village), the heart of the festival with stands, gatherings, and moments of conviviality.
La Divina also promotes a cultural and social message: the promotion of cycling as a tool for inclusion and emancipation, with a tribute to the pioneers of women's cycling and awareness initiatives. Cycling through the streets of Cervia and Romagna on a vintage bike thus becomes a way to rediscover a territory made of sea, salt, pine forests, and villages.
The 2026 edition of the La Divina Vintage Cycling Race takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with start and finish in Cervia, alternating with the Municipality of Ravenna. Confirmed as a stage of the Giro d'Italia d'Epoca circuit, it offers a new itinerary that goes from the coast towards the Romagna countryside and hills.
Two routes are planned: the Long route of approximately 70 km and the Short route of approximately 40 km, both ridden in a group behind FIAB guides. The registration fee is €45 and includes race number, race pack, refreshments, technical assistance, and daily insurance.
The official GPX track, with control and assistance points, will be published on the websites www.giroditaliadepoca.it, www.ladivinaravenna.it, and www.fiabravenna.it. The accompanying program revolves around the "Villaggio Divina" (Divine Village).
