The summer concert of the Anterivo band

The Konzert der Musikkapelle Altrei is the traditional summer concert of the Anterivo brass band (Musikkapelle Altrei), the musical association of the small village of Anterivo/Altrei in the province of Bolzano. Every year, in the heart of summer, the band members take to the stage in the village square to treat locals and visitors to an evening of brass music under the Dolomite sky.

A South Tyrolean musical tradition

The Anterivo brass band is a deeply rooted association that accompanies community life through festivals, as well as religious and civil celebrations. Their traditional uniforms, brass instruments, and percussion are an integral part of South Tyrolean cultural heritage, where every village takes pride in its own Musikkapelle. Along with the spring concert, this summer event is a highlight of the band's calendar, featuring a repertoire that ranges from traditional Tyrolean marches and polkas to modern pieces and film scores.

Anterivo, the only German-speaking village in the Val di Fiemme

Anterivo/Altrei sits at an altitude of 1,209 meters at the foot of the Corno Bianco, within the Monte Corno Nature Park. It is the only German-speaking municipality in the Val di Fiemme and, due to its location, is considered the last bastion of German settlement east of the Adige river. The village is famous for cultivating lupins, used to make the renowned Anterivo coffee, a historic coffee substitute. The concert setting is that of an intimate, authentic mountain village where the brass band tradition remains vibrant.

How it works

The concert is held outdoors in the church square with free admission. In the event of inclement weather, the concert moves indoors to the local Kultursaal (cultural hall). The evening is a wonderful opportunity for the entire community and summer visitors to the plateau between the Val di Fiemme and the Bassa Atesina to gather and enjoy the music.
