During the festive season in Tesero, one of the most picturesque villages in Val di Fiemme, music sets the rhythm for the holidays. The E. Deflorian Social Band Christmas Concert has become a well-established tradition: on the evening of December 25th, the Cineteatro Comunale fills with families, music lovers, and tourists eager to hear one of the most deep-rooted wind ensembles in the Province of Trento, in Trentino-Alto Adige. Free admission makes this event a community moment open to everyone.

A band with over two centuries of history

Musical activity in Tesero has been documented since 1817, when musicians accompanied church services; the philharmonic society took a stable form starting in 1860. The band owes its name to Erminio Deflorian, who conducted it from 1900 until his passing in 1963: it was then that the ensemble was officially named after him. Today, the "E. Deflorian" Band has about seventy members, with an increasingly large presence of young people, and is among the largest wind ensembles in Trentino.

The program and direction

Under the guidance of Maestro Fabrizio Zanon, the concert offers a varied and carefully curated program every year, capable of blending the Christmas spirit with a broad musical repertoire. Over the years, the band has ranged from great symphonic works transcribed for wind instruments to film scores, from Viennese waltzes to classic Christmas tunes, always with an eye toward engaging even the youngest listeners.
