Klosterbräufest in Weißenstein (Pietralba)

A beer festival at high altitude, at the Pietralba sanctuary

The Klosterbräufest is the anniversary celebration of the Klosterbräu craft brewery, established in 2024 inside an old barn next to the Maria Weißenstein Sanctuary, better known in Italian as Pietralba. We are at an altitude of 1,520 meters, in the village of Weißenstein, part of the municipality of Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, in the Province of Bolzano, the green heart of the Eggental valley with a spectacular view of the South Tyrolean Dolomites.

On July 18th and 19th, 2026, the brewery opens its doors for two days of celebration: house beers are on tap, local gastronomic specialties are served, and guests gather in the beer garden with a view of the peaks, in the convivial yet serene atmosphere typical of South Tyrolean mountain locations.

Monastery beers

Klosterbräu produces honest, straightforward beers using mountain water, hops, and plenty of artisanal patience, without filtration or pasteurization. The two labels featured at the festival are:

• Hell (Helles) — an unfiltered and unpasteurized blonde lager with a fresh, slightly fruity aroma;
• Sinner — an amber Kellerbier with hints of caramel, hazelnut, and honey.

The beers pair perfectly with South Tyrolean specialties, from speck to alpine cheeses, for a combination that tells the story of the region in every sip.

The uniqueness of the Klosterbräufest lies in its setting: few places in Italy combine one of the most beloved pilgrimage sanctuaries in the Alps, the air of the Dolomites, and a craft brewery housed in a centuries-old barn.
