An evening of celebration in Kamauz

The Kamauz Festival is a summer event that brings joy and conviviality to the small mountain village of Kamauz, a high-altitude hamlet in the municipality of Frassilongo, in the province of Trento. Nestled at over 1,300 meters above sea level in the Mòcheni Valley (known as Bersntol in the local language), Kamauz—also called Kamaovrunt in the local dialect—is one of the most authentic and scenic spots in the valley, dominated by its 16th-century church dedicated to the Madonna and Saint Udalrico.

The evening program

The festival takes place in the church square, the heart of the community, and offers an evening centered on good food and entertainment. Pizza service, available for takeaway or to enjoy on-site, is provided by Nicola Pizze starting at 6:00 PM, while at 7:30 PM the entertainment program titled "Oltre la festa – ne facciamo di tutti i colori" (Beyond the party – we're doing it all) kicks off, featuring engaging games, great music, and child-friendly entertainment in a safe and familiar environment.

The Mòcheni Valley and Mòcheni culture

The Kamauz Festival is organized by the associations of Frassilongo and Roveda in collaboration with the Municipality of Frassilongo. These types of local festivals represent a precious part of community life in the Mòcheni Valley, one of the three Germanic linguistic islands in Trentino, inhabited by a population of ancient Bavarian origin that still preserves its own language and traditions today. Participating in the festival means not only spending a pleasant evening but also immersing yourself in the genuine atmosphere of an alpine village where a sense of community and hospitality are still living values.

Surrounded by coniferous forests, traditional farmhouses, and hiking trails, Kamauz also offers an ideal natural setting for those who wish to combine the festival with a walk to discover the territory on the left side of the Fersina, between Frassilongo, Roveda, and the peaks of the Lagorai.
