Turin's major pink charity run and walk for university health and cancer research
Just The Woman I Am is one of the most cherished and well-attended events in the Turin calendar. Launched in 2014, this non-competitive 5-kilometre run and walk transforms the heart of Turin, the capital of the Piedmont region, into a vibrant river of pink every March. The event is promoted by the Turin University Sports Centre (CUS Torino) in collaboration with the University of Turin and the Polytechnic of Turin, with the support of the local health authorities (ASL Cittร di Torino and A.O.U. Cittร della Salute e della Scienza).
The deeper meaning of the event goes far beyond sport. All proceeds support university research into health and oncology: funds finance scholarships and research grants at the two Turin universities, covering topics ranging from cancer prevention to university well-being, STEM careers, and the relationship between artificial intelligence and female employment. Participating literally means taking a step forward for research.
Throughout the event, Piazza Castello and Piazzetta Reale (part of the Royal Museums) host the Prevention Village, a large hub where doctors and professionals offer free preventive screenings, counselling, conferences, workshops, and information stands. It is a space where the concept of prevention becomes tangible and accessible to everyone.
Open to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, Just The Woman I Am is an event that places inclusion and gender equality at its core. Over the years, it has become a symbol for Turin and Piedmont, uniting sport, solidarity, a culture of prevention, and a sense of community into one great collective celebration.
The 13th edition of Just The Woman I Am brought Turin to life from March 6th to 8th, 2026, confirming its status as one of the city's most popular events. The Prevention Village, set up in Piazza Castello and Piazzetta Reale, offered free preventive screenings, conferences, workshops, and information stands throughout the event, organised by CUS Torino with the University and Polytechnic of Turin.
Among the novelties of the 2026 edition were the Just for Pet project, dedicated to the human-animal bond in oncological prevention, and the Just Virtual Run with stages in Milan, Rome, and Paris. The funds raised were allocated to university research on health and oncology at the two Turin universities.
A day dedicated to schools and talks on health, research, well-being, and gender equality. In the afternoon, the Prevention Village opens in Piazza Castello and Piazzetta Reale.
The event takes place in the centre of Turin, between Piazza Castello and Parco del Valentino. The city is easily accessible by train (Porta Nuova and Porta Susa stations) and by car via the main motorways. Piazza Castello is served by urban public transport lines and the metro (Porta Nuova stop).
Participation is through a voluntary donation starting from 20 euros per person. You can register for in-person or virtual participation on the official platform jtwia.org/iscrizioni. The event kit can be collected for free at designated points or delivered to your home for an additional fee.
Wear something pink, arrive early to experience the Prevention Village, and take advantage of the free preventive screenings and conferences scheduled in Piazza Castello.
