The grand Western-themed park in Castel di Iudica
Judica Western Park is the grand Western-themed festival that every spring transforms Parco Monte Iudica, on the plateau of Castel di Iudica (Metropolitan City of Catania, Sicily), into an authentic Wild West village. Originally a local initiative, the event has grown into one of the island's most extensive temporary theme parks and a nationally acclaimed festival, attracting visitors from across Sicily and beyond.
For two days, the area comes alive with sets and attractions that recreate the spirit of the Old West. Highlights of the park include:
Admission to the park is completely free, a choice that has contributed to the event's massive popularity and makes it a perfect destination for families and children.
Alongside the attractions, the program features numerous live performances: country bands and artists bring the park to life with music and Wild West vibes, while dance schools perform themed choreography. The event also hosts the national beauty pageant Una ragazza per il cinema, which crowns the Miss Cowgirl, as well as a large area dedicated to street food and local products.
Promoted and organized by the Municipality of Castel di Iudica, Judica Western Park has become a symbol of the tourism and cultural offering of this small town in the Catania hinterland. The natural setting of the Iudica Mountains, with its rural landscapes and wide-open spaces, provides the ideal backdrop for an event that blends entertainment, spectacle, and the promotion of inland Sicily.
The 5th edition of Judica Western Park was held on Friday, May 1st, and Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at Parco Monte Iudica in Castel di Iudica, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The park featured the cowboy arena, the Indian village with children's entertainment, the Western village, the saloon, the sheriff's jail, the mechanical bull, fairground rides, the miniature train, and the pioneer wagon raid re-enactment.
Live musical performances included the Silverado Country Band (fresh from their Texas tour), Marisa D'Amato (from Malta), Victor Appalosa, The Daltons, and Let's Rock, alongside dance school performances and the national Una ragazza per il cinema pageant, crowning Miss Cowgirl. A large food area was also available. Free entry.
