Jazz in Cava Barghetti is the inaugural edition of a festival that transforms an extraordinary site into an open-air stage. The Cava Barghetti is an ancient marble quarry that towers over the Palazzo Mediceo of Seravezza, a Grand Ducal residence listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the "Medici Villas and Gardens in Tuscany." Thanks to restoration efforts over the past year, this space suspended between the Apuan Alps and the Versilia plains has become a natural amphitheater dedicated to music for the very first time.

Promoted by the Fondazione Terre Medicee, the festival offers six free evenings of high-quality national and international jazz, running from July 2 to August 6, 2026. The artistic direction is led by three well-known figures of the local music scene, Gigi Pellegrini, Michela Lombardi, and Leonardo Badiali, who have curated a program that weaves together established musicians and young talents from Versilia and Tuscany.

The inaugural edition of Jazz in Cava Barghetti takes place from July 2 to August 6, 2026, with six free evenings hosted in the evocative Cava Barghetti, above the Palazzo Mediceo of Seravezza. The festival, promoted by the Fondazione Terre Medicee and artistically directed by Gigi Pellegrini, Michela Lombardi, and Leonardo Badiali, alternates established musicians with young local talents in a natural marble amphitheater overlooking the Versilia. Admission is free for all evenings.

The first edition offers six free evenings dedicated to great national and international jazz, from July 2 to August 6, 2026. The full program, including artists for all evenings, is being announced progressively by the Fondazione Terre Medicee on the official Palazzo Mediceo channels.

The concert is also part of the tenth edition of the "Ville e Giardini Incantati" project, dedicated to live music in the Medici sites of Tuscany. The remaining jazz evenings will be announced in the following weeks.

The quarry is accessible on foot via a 10-15 minute path starting from the Palazzo Mediceo area. By car, reach Seravezza from the A12 Versilia motorway exit and continue inland; by train, the reference station is Pietrasanta on the Tyrrhenian line, with local connections to Seravezza.
