Original jazz comes to Treville

The Jazz Concert with Diego Borotti brings great improvised music to the Dehor delle Rose in Treville, a small village of a few hundred inhabitants nestled in the hills of Monferrato, in the province of Alessandria (Piedmont). The event is part of the Monferr'Autore Festival, a series directed by Enrico Deregibus that transforms the Monferrato territory into a crossroads of music, words, and original visions throughout spring and summer.

On stage is Diego Borotti, a saxophonist and composer among the most authoritative names on the Piedmontese and national jazz scene, and former artistic director of the Turin Jazz Festival. His music combines the lessons of jazz tradition with contemporary energy and great improvisational freedom, building a continuous dialogue between the instruments and the audience.

A quartet with roots in Treville

Borotti is joined by a first-rate ensemble. On piano is Alberto Bonacasa, while the rhythm section is entrusted to two musicians with a special bond to the village: double bassist Giorgio Allara and drummer Riccardo Marchese, both originally from Treville. Marchese also boasts collaborations with Elio e le Storie Tese. The return home of two local musicians gives the evening the feel of a community celebration, as well as a high-level concert.

Dehor delle Rose, the village's cultural lounge

The setting is the Dehor delle Rose, at Via Roma 6, an open-air space that has become the cultural lounge of Treville and one of the venues for the Monferr'Autore Festival, which has also hosted meetings here with accordionist Gianni Coscia.
